my 2 friends kinda started it...they got the idea from battle cry last year in detroit...i had to stand outside for 6 hours listening to them scream "free hugs" and for the first 2 hours hardly anyone was there lol.
I was with the group that was in the purple shirts with the wings on the back although most people remeber my friend waffle because he had the glow in the dark hat lol.
Oh my gosh! That guys hat was so cool, i was talking to my friend and was like dude look at that hat!!!! tell him i said his hat was the bomb. :) maybe i got a free hug from you!
:) sweet. did you talk to some random girl about how great random hugs are? if so, that was probably me. i doubt it though, there were what, 8,000 people there? i cant even imagine the size of battlecry!!!
oohhh, thats coincedental. i seriously didnt know how to go back to normal life the day i got back. it was a big letdown, going from screaming and singing like a maniac about 10 hours straight then going home and sitting aroud. :)
haha yeah, i was like in ATF mode for at least a couple of days afterwards lol. Me and my youthgroup went to school that monday and we all had out purple shirts on and out pants where we had everyone sign and through out the day we would just randomly burst into song, it was so funny. =]
:) lucky. no one in my youth group goes to my school! well two of them would but they go to homeschool, and the one guy who said he was going to go forgot about it. i was so exited, i don't understand how he forgot about it! :)
yeah! we(my youth group)got floor seats, it sounds like amazing. me and this one girl got into an actual conversation about how great free hugs are! i loved that especially, how nobody was scared to go up to someone they didn't know and say hey, your hair is cool(i did that!!! so unlike me), or give people hugs, or talk about God, and I'm sure people were praying with absolute strangers, I would have! It woke me up, i was thinking, wow, there are christians out there like me who accept me! sweet
oh yeah did you see those guys in that one section that started the wave? lol that was awesome, i was two rows in front of them so of course i did it! i miss it...lol. can't wait till next year!
Yah, I saw them. Of course you did! Haha. Just kidding. Okay, well, um... maybe we should turn our conversations into "YouTube Emails" because, I honestly don't even know if I'm replying to the correct comment. Hahaha.
yeah it was certinly a totally mind blowing expierence for me. But it really sounds like you might have talked to my friend Oez about the hugs because that totally sounds like something she would do lol. my youth group was lucky enough to get floor seats also and it was truely an amazing weekend for me.
also one more thing to say...the sunday that weekend at church everytime the pastor said "announcements" the youth went HOO HOO!1 haha any other youth groups do this?
Ron Luce was great at ATF in Muncie this last weekend. Joel was great too.
"Who's ready for some announcements!"
"HOO HOO!"
The Michael Gungor Band was the greatest and so was The Bema.
"Time is ticking away" :P
We had to leave early in the Superchic part due to having the pizza come in at 5 (when dinner was supposed to start). Nevertheless still needs to perfect their style but weren't too bad.
This is the third ATF event I've been to. Prior was StandUp: Invasion and Great Awakening.
Yah, they were all pretty great, weren't they? I got to meet Michael Gungor. That was cool. "HOO HOO!!!" Haha. Michael Gungor Band was the greatest. I thought that was so cool that Lisa (piano player) was his wife. THat could SO create an even more special bond between them. **ATFluvr**
I know! Wasn't that awesome? I can honestly say that really opened my eyes. I arrived there as a Christian, but I left a strong Christian, ready to go against the flow to the top and put up barriers just to keep others down! :-) I would love to keep in touch with you...that is if you want to. **ATFluvr**
I've slways been a christian, but things like these make me remember what being a christ follower is all about! yes i do wanna stay in touch, lol. who knows, maybe u were one of the free hug people i hugged? lol not too likely, but still...
I actually went to this as well and saw this at ATF with the girl who commented below me actually.
I went with Invade Youth Ministries. It was SO much fun!
