The thing to ranking, at least when you get to gunnery sergent +, is that everytime you get you ighest skill up, you become a whole rank, but with exp, you will become that rank bu in grades, so really highst skill is the first thing you want to work up.

Here's how it works. You need skill AND Experience to rank up. Here's what you need...

Sergeant and below XP less then 60

Lieutenant XP-60 Highest Skill>10

Captain XP-100 Highest Skill>20

Major XP-200 Highest Skill>30

Commander XP-300 Highest Skill>35

Colonel XP-400 Highest Skill>40

Brigadier  XP-500 Highest Skill>45

General XP-600 Highest Skill=50

When both criteria are met, you can rank up. However, if only the XP requirement is met, that's when the grade 2,3 and 4 happen. For example, I may have 600 experience, but I only have a highest skill of 32, I will be a major grade 3.

with my experience, most people you play are between the ranks of lieutenant and colonel play fair and you have a good game
