I am thinking of booking a holiday there this week, now i like the quiet places, but not too quiet. I want somewhere with marinas and things for when i have enough of the beach. Is there a bit of life there if you look for it? Nothing too wild like

@irnbruirnbru Probably Corralejo for you. I would definately hire a car, but dont pull off the road onto the sand at the dunes around Correlejo as you will be charged £40 to be towed out.

Yes it is a very barren place but that is what attracts people. Certain people want to escape from their busy lives to empty places! Fuerteventura is such a hidden gem!

Hi Glasgow, I was down in Las Playitas near Gran Tarajahl, six months! Luckly i had a Catamaran school to run. The Island has stunning beauty, and nice people, (but too many traffic cops looking for illegal boat people) barren lonley hills and a spooky constant howling wind. Reminded me of the Outback, would recomend it for a silent break and recoup' but to buy and settle? PS. Gran Tarahal back streets at night! Latino!Samba!! And everybody smiles ; ) No Brits or Germans!!!

@libra61060 lol thats true been there twice now very barren island. still its not too bad there is a few thing to do such as oasis park (i think its called) um the beach and errr i think theres like a shipwreck u can see thats just off shore :P but other than that not alot lol. still not a bad place to go on holiday just no longer than 2 weeks lol..
