  • omg how sexy is the singer,x

  • ...I sat down with you guys in 1992 [Atlanta Roxy] on stage...

  • JAMES where are you guys? Fantastic in every way!!

  • Always loved this song.

  • 16 users just won´t sit down....

  • @molghus YEAH, we allow MONGULS in here, 16 are sadly alive!

  • @woodyfurball They never felt down.. perhaps. Lol ;)

  • which version is this?

  • I didn't appreciate this song when it came out in the 90s I was too young.

After listening to it recently I think the lyrics are amazing.

Simple but powerful. We are in this crazy existence together

    sit down next to me!

  • The ultimate loser song. A classic.

  • I always thought it was "Up sit down".

  • @richardc1985 I always thought it was "all sit down"!

  • What.a.fucking.tune.

  • This is a really good song to listen to when you're feeling down (which was in a way the point of the song, I think.) Also, I just love this song anyway - I really enjoy listening to it no matter how I'm feeling, but when I'm down this is a great song to listen to.

  • Brings Back Goood Old Days Wish I Could Go Back :(

  • Incredible tune!

  • good song this!

  • I heard the songs of the artists nowadays. . . . . . . . . . . . .

    and came back here

Also on my music cassettes recorded on radio many years ago

  • Oh so long ago I ruined many a pair of trousers sitting down to this in dodgy pubs and clubs with beer covered floors and carpets. Saw James a couple of years ago at the MEN (supported by Athlete no less); sat down there and ruined yet another good pair of jeans...epic.

  • love it!

  • 16 people can't sit down!!

  • How can 16 people do not like this music

  • such a pity there wa not (in my opinion) a real follow-up to this brilliance...

  • great song but all the fancy animations on the lyrics mean the line is finished before I can read what the words are! not great when I'm trying to learn to sing it for my band :s

  • woooohhooooo

  • is this from 1989 or 1991?

  • I remember this song from the early 1990's good tune for the time and still good all these yrs on!

  • I was gutted when they canceled T in the park in 1998 but the Prodigy made up for it! :)

  • 15 people stood up.

  • I sang to this song on my stereo before being pulled through the windscreen of my upside down car in a 3m drainage ditch. OH happy day. Seriously, what better song to crash to?

  • I sang to this song while being pulled through the windscreen of my upside down car. Happy days.

  • i was 17 when this song was released,to me,the perfect age.takes me back to my college days.it`s still a classic to this day,in actual fact,i named my second son after the band!!

  • @carolineh73 Thats not cool Caroline. What if your parents named you somethign like "Def leppard" or "Mamas and Papas"?

  • I'm 15, love this song:)

  • @Ozymaddyas do you want a medal?

  • @aonymous2010 Well, if you're offering...

It wasn't just a random brainless comment, it was meant to be a reaction to the other comments about people of all ages liking James.

  • @Ozymaddyas Well you're 15 with good taste in music then!

  • as the 2 comments below me prove, James is a band that span the ages (i'm 26)

  • I'm a 60 yr old GHFOG, but still think is one of the greatest songs ever - love it!!

  • 'swing from high to LEAP'

  • I don't usually do these things, but I can't resist, 14 people have haemorrhoids.

  • 14 people can't sit down :)))

  • nice..

  • I was about 9 or 10 when this came out and for years I was getting the lyrics wrong e.g. when he sings "if I hadn't seen such riches I could live with being poor" I thought he was singing "if I hadn't seen such Richards I could live with being Paul"!!

  • @kkly27 That made me smile.

Do you know the song "Mr Wendel" by Arrested Development? I think it was out around a similar time to this. Up until about 5 years ago I always thought they were singing Mr Window, yeah, oooh Mr Window....

  • @soundseeker63 Me too!!! I was told I had it wrong by a mate who overheard me singing "Mr Window" at the top of my voice. *cringe* I love hearing misheard lyrics. My mam thought Take That's Pray was a rude song as when it goes "all I do each night is think" she heard "All I do is shite and stink" Ha ha ha.

  • @kkly27 which makes a lot of sense! ;)

  • @zilam98 I know ha ha!! I thought he must've been called called Paul and he knew loads of great men called Richard who he could never live up to. :S I can be so blonde sometimes

  • @kkly27 omg this thread is gay!

  • @kkly27 i think that sounds better ;)

  • @kkly27 hehehe, loved it :)

  • this is sheer brilliance

  • how can 14 people not like this song

  • @MrFiltoner they didnt sit down ??

  • Classic.

  • He sung at the Adelphi? I'm from Hull XD

  • My aunt went out with the trumpeter and they nicked my dad's guitar! xD They started of as a bunch of students stealing instruments and jammin' together in a garage while recording themselves and anything they liked they'd turn into songs =D

  • 1 of the best

  • i love this song so much. It's a proper catchy song. I think i hurt the replay button

  • Brilliant song, Brilliant Band!

  • memorys this song brings me

Barcelona 26th May 1999 MUFC We'll Never Die

  • @Mikeb1001 Shame the lead singer is a Leeds fan! January 3rd Remember the Date! Sorry to piss on your party!!!

  • This was my favourite song throughout my childhood... possibly the song that will play as the curtains surround my coffin... Always loved it and always will. "Sometimes", "Tomorrow" and "Say Something" might also be in there as well... I guess I'll just have to ask my brothers and cousins to walk slowly with me down the ailse of the crematorium.

  • 14 persons can't sit down

  • Brilliant! pure genius!

  • Yes found this, so over the moon, heard someone sing it at Brentford on Saturday, but he got the lyrics wrong, he said oh stand up, oops

  • @beanedoutboy He was probably just playing with the lyrics. A lot of singers either do that for a laugh, or to add something to the meaning. Others do it just to break the monotony of singing the same words every single concert.

  • love this band! they're coming to my city on the 19th! can't wait!

  • This song really makes me want to do anything but sit down. I just wanna dance around like Mr. Booth. Love it.
