The director said it got really boring in the 5th movie just having them read about the death eaters in the news paper and he actually wanted to show how dangerous they are. Thats why they added the weasley house burning and the attack on the muggle bridge. the latter was talked about but never shown in the book

Completely Agree!! I loved Dumbledore in the first movie, but then after that, he got a little to "young" and in your face, so pumped to see him as he should be.
