  • Very good video. Most health care professionals just see a reddened area and call it a positive PPD. Most don't even palpate for induration. Many don't even know to look for Induration. Without Induration it is NEGATIVE! Redness IS NOT MEASURED WHATSOEVER!

  • must it be done that slowly? or is that for demonstration purposes only?

  • I get my 2nd test but I don't know whether it's negative or positive. There is a small bump around 10mm. Can anyone tell me whether it is positive or negative? I'm really scared if it's positive n I will be visiting my doctor tmrw for the results.

  • omg wat should i do im so nervous i hate needles n i'm gonna get tat test till tuesday next two weeks O.O

  • I had this done today but I don't think it was done correctly. I had no weal whatsoever. I think it was a waste of time.

  • Is it true that skin testing antibiotics before administration (not the screening test for TB) and achieving a negative result doesn't mean that the patient is 100% safe from getting an anaphylactic reaction from parenteral anti-infectives?

  • I'm scared to do this...I have it today. Is it ok to take flight with this thing in me?

  • nice video.

  • i took a test on wednesday afternoon and the doctor told me to come back on friday morning,i wonder if that lenght of time is ok and after arriving at health center i got red spot but she told it was ok, my red spot just got 8mm in lenght...is the red spot a symtomp of dease, and how long will it disappear? .... :( i'm worrying...

  • ok so I had this done

They checked me , they said negative

    but its red

    and its like 1mm

should I go back and recheck ?

  • Can someone tell me if this hurt? I'm suppose to get this Friday n I'm a huge baby when it comes to needles, I start to tear up and get dizzy at the sight of the needle. N I'm 16. Lol

  • Got this done today. Doesn't hurt at all...and I'm a little weenie when it comes to shots.

  • i got my tb test 48 hours ago it's super itchy? what can i do ?

  • Im going to have this test done to me tomorrow, for compliance before our junior internship rotation. =| Im anxious because I heard that it hurts a lot! LOL >.< Oh well...thanks for the information!

  • I got my results for my tb and is 10-11mm my doctore said Im unlikely to have it but im not sure is effing itchy and like a big bump on the middle ):

  • Informative. But why the cheap porno background music? haha XP

  • this is great !! going to watch this in web movie tube

  • i had my test done on wed 19 last week

    but they said it negative

but i still have a red area about 10 mm

is this ok or i should go back for recheck

  • @punjabibro72 it was stated in the video that redness is not included. it's only if there is swelling that you should be concerned. Mine was red when I went back to have it checked, but there was no induration so it was negative.

  • thank you good information

  • I have to have this test (for college) on Wednesday. I'm nervous it will be a positive result .

  • nothing has happened to mine...does that mean im immune?

  • During my TB test, I was getting a prick with the needle it didn't swell just like the video did!

    What should I do?

  • Ok, when did they start doing them THIS way? Seems to me the old way would have been much less painful.

  • how wouLd u know if u have a negative resuLt? i had this test yesterday, now the area where it was injected is red..is that normaL?

  • what happen if you put a band aid on?

does it makes a big different to the result?

  • Does this hurt?

  • I had one yesterday. There's the needle, then a pinch. Didn't hurt me much because I'm used to needles and pain, but might hurt you for the first time

  • was i overdosed? or just have a super reactive reaction, i was exposed to TB patient back in 2006 because i was a nursing student, i have not contracted TB since birth.

  • base on what i have researched, there is no explanation regarding the testing result that will turn into wounds, that it is valid,

what i have read is only about the elevated red, and that it is the only one that should be measured. please help me to ease my burden, when i think of this , i feel stress..

  • which includes chest x-ray, HIV, hepa A and B, liver enzyme and sputum all result is negative.

My question is, is it natural or common result that the injection site should turn into blister and later on to wound? is it also accounted this result?

  • i was diagnosed of latent tuberculosis using mantoux test, test was done last december 5 2008, and the injection site turn out to be a 2.5 cm or 25 mm of blister like burn, after 2 days, and later when the fluids drained by itself the site turned into wound, but my doctor said that i have LTBI, i underwent testing .

  • Look it up on google.

  • That's what she said.

  • DOES IT HURT!!!!

  • I just got the skin test about 2 hours ago, the little bump is gone but in the little bump its little red like it has blood in it. will this go away soon? can i take a shower tonight ?

  • Taking a shower is not a problem. But be sure to keep your follow-up appointment with your health care professional to have the test read.

  • I need help!!I did a test last Thursday and my result will come up on Sunday!..I see red all over it..I am 17.....

  • You would be best to see your family doctor or go to a hospital to have your results read by a health care professional.

  • Skin tb test is positive..

    Xray is negative

    soo Negative

  • hi,

    what does it mean

the result 0-4mm HIV infection here

    so from this test,

can be detected someone has HIV+ in their body?

  • No, a TB skin test does not detect the presence of HIV. It is for detecting Tuberculosis.

  • @sixreasons it says if the patient has HIV, then a result of 0-4mm indicates a positive result.. i think..

  • these are canadian standards? because i think in the US, it is > or equal to 5, 10 , 15mm as the 3 categories for positive skin testing..

  • Yes, our info is based on Canadian standards.

  • what happens if you test negative?

  • A negative result indicates that tuberculosis was not detected.

  • very helpful

  • Thanks a lot.
