how much did all that stuff you use to record cost? because i'm thinking about buying this stuff to let's play mh3G as soon as it comes out here in europe
@Geccore Too many factors like camera/computer/editing software brands, specifications, country etc for me to consider a budget.
There are cheaper camera bodies and lenses etc that could get the same or better video quality. I'm simply working with what I got which is a build up of hobby materials over a few years. Never even knew I was going to use the video mode on my camera let alone film handhelds like this when I got it haha.
@Rasan4eva You could do that, it has been a while since I've used a USB headset but surely there are options to enable both sound inputs at once. Voicing after the recording could be better tho (allows you to remove stuff ups easier), If your doing it at the same time I'd recommend investing in a cheap mixer so that you can adjust the audio levels of the game or microphone on the fly, and wear headphones while recording to monitor audio levels. This would also be useful if your streaming live.
Audio is imo the most important thing. If the audio (quality, that is) sucks it will throw off people immidiately. Awesome setup you got there. Got a Sony HDR-CX7EK myself.
Great! I got the Sony HDR-CX130E. Any experiences with that? Just wondering, getting my 3DS at the end of december. What is the name of your tripod and how is your dock called? Where can I get the test patterns? Sorry for all these questions, the recording quality is so amazing *O*
@MHVuze any tripod will do the trick, dock is supplied with 3DS, test patterns I created myself, requires some reasonably strict rules to use custom images on 3DS photo viewer which there are posts on 3dsforums / google will likely explain.
@zedamex Alright, thank you very much for the answer =) Would you mind sharing the test patterns sometime if they are in such a special format? Or did I get something wrong?
@MHVuze Added a link in the video description to these albums, instructions in the album description. You only really need three of these, I just created others for post recording tweaking.
what do you use to feed audio to your computer? And could a 11 or 12 megapixel digital camera be used and end up with the same result? Cuz IF I canfind out how to record like the way you did with 3d Land there, I might make a walkthrough (3 stars for every level) of the special worlds.
@n00btendo it depends heavily on the camera for the end result, what settings it allows you to change etc. It gets technical as to the ins and outs especially with recording LCD screens (censor, resizing, etc). Comes down to a lot of trial and error (look at my older vids)
For the cable: just use a standard male-male, stereo 3.5mm to stereo 3.5mm cable to bridge the audio from 3DS to Camera or PC. (Easier if straight to camera, probably better results if you record to PC and sync it after)
@altf8 Hard to answer as this would first depend on your country/region as to what shops/online shops exist. Apparantly you live in Canada (according to your channel page), so I would not have any idea.
don´t get offended if someone tells that your videos are from an emulator, because the quality actually made them think that way, in fact be happy about it...

Zedamex, I want to record my voice using this setup, do you think a usb headset will do the trick?

@Rasan4eva Of course a headset would double as headphones if your not using a more dedicated mic :)

I still wish there was a "direct video feed". Using a webcam sucks, paying for a cool camera sucks. :D

@flamingokai unless you already had or wanted the camera, but yes both 3DS/Vita not having video out is a pain in the butt.
