  • @dlago12

His first few games this year were good, the best thing that could happen for him would be to play another season which will happen.

  • i miss these days :(

  • I am a Dolphin fan and I will say this kid would have turned out alot better in the NFL with a different team The dolphins program has not been able to brew up a young quarterback since marino

  • c''mon um think we can surprise this year

  • D Rob makes Henne look like a joke.

    Oh wait.....

  • Henne was a good quarterback but when you don't get even one win over the Buckeyes, there's a big hole in your career.

  • @69UM24OSU12

Because every loss to OSU was purely Henne's fault, right? Get a clue. You can't tell me that Brian Griese was a better quarterback than Henne.

  • @69UM24OSU12

    Excellent username, though.

  • He put us Dolphins in Quaterback limbo... lolz...

  • lol at mike trico freaking out at edwards touchdown catches (i was doing the same thing though)

  • @cmoney7463 SIR I think he was born and lvied in Ann Arbor but he went to Syracuse I think!

  • I wish Mike Trico would annouce more UofM games! @ 11:50 Rich Rod!

  • Henne was fantastic when he got in rhythm. Nice vid.

  • The Minnesota game in 2004 was my first ever live Michigan game 4:05 , and it's something I will never forget. 14 years old but raised with maize and blue blood, I'm lucky to have a father that graduated from the UofM and I plan to attend Law school there in 2 years. GO BLUE

  • in a couple of years this will happen again, this kind of passing game and winning big games

  • @slenky2124

I hope you're right. But there's really no evidence.

  • good quarterback that will never get enough credit because he went 0-4 against the buckeyes and 1-3 in bowl games. It's a shame and not all his fault but he will get blamed

  • @ohiostsucks

Blaming one person for any loss is bullshit every time. I have found myself constantly frustrated for the past three years because it seems like most Michigan fans were loathe to criticize anyone except Rich Rod for every loss.

  • @TheZooCrew

i also blame our overall shitty team, tate forcier, and greg robinson in addition to blaming rich rod

  • @thecarrotdude

That's really where the blame should be placed...but in truth, Forcier didn't really lose us any games besides 2009 Ohio State. He's the reason we won Illinois this year and he very well could have orchestrated a disgusting comeback against Iowa if our defense could tackle someone on 3rd and 15.

What pissed me off this year the most was the amount of criticism directed at the offense, which was the best Michigan has seen in like 80 years when the defense couldn't do shit.

  • @TheZooCrew this years michigan offense was actually really over rated. they scored a lot of points against the shitty teams michigan played but when they faced a good defense, they were actually just mediocre.

  • @20evan10

    Not really.

Illinois had the #12 defense before they played Michigan and still landed around #30 despite getting shelled.

Iowa had a top 15 defense.

"Mediocre" is basically all of Lloyd Carr's offense. Our minimum yard total outside the bowl game was 380 against Michigan State. That would be a maximum during the Carr years. If we won 10 games, no one would be talking about how our offense was "overrated."

  • @TheZooCrew ooo i thought you were talking about the 2010 offense

  • @20evan10

I was. We shelled at least three good defenses this year.

When we won games like 14-7 in the '90s, no one was bad-mouthing our offense even if they weren't good. Now I find it a little ridiculous that so much criticism is leveled at the one bright spot of our 2010 team.

  • @TheZooCrew i would have to disagree. Michigan did have a solid offense this year with the capabilities that Robinson has, however against osu they scored 7, Miss St. they scored 14, MSU they had 17. I shouldn't have said mediocre, more like inconsistent. I think that your new coach will get them turned around though.

  • @20evan10

    Way to cherry-pick.

    Illinois: 67

Iowa and Wisconsin: 28 and a shitload of yards

    I can do it, too!

  • @20evan10

You're completely missing the point. Our offense was far from the problem.

  • @TheZooCrew

ya you're right about forcier. i always viewed him as a cocky punk and then he goes and becomes academically ineligible. about our offense, im not sure it was the best in 80 years... I think it was pretty bad. denard couldn't really throw that well. our rb's and wide receivers were mediocre at best. our o line was pretty shitty even though it was supposed to be good cause we had so many seniors. i mean henne's four years were imo much better than the past three years.

  • @thecarrotdude

Are you joking? 34.3 points and 500 yards per game. That blows every single Carr year out of the water.

Denard completed 62% of his passes for 2316 yards. Roundtree still caught 63 passes despite developing the dropsies later on in the season. If you honestly thought our offense was "bad," then you know absolutely nothing about football. In fact, you might even qualify for negative knowledge.

  • @TheZooCrew The stats are blinding you. Denard Robinson can rack up stats against Bowling Green and Uconn all he wants, but until the offence isn't utterly anemic against good teams Carr and Henne's offensive legacy will tower over Robinson's.

  • @DrOman5596

Robinson has a single season of being the starting quarterback. Predict the future, can you? Never mind that he broke the single-season QB rushing record.

The offense isn't "utterly anemic" against good teams...just the teams you and others choose to cherry-pick to suit your own needs.

UConn made a BCS bowl (unfairly) and actually hung with Oklahoma for a bit. Notre Dame wasn't fantastic, but certainly no slouch. Illinois, Iowa, and Wisco all had good defenses.

  • @TheZooCrew Henne's first year at quarterback was much better. He didn't break any records, but he was 7-1 in the big ten. Bowling Greens defense played better than Illinois against us (hint: a team that gives up 67 points doesn't have a good defense), Denard only scored 1 touchdown against Iowa, and Wisconsin completely shut him out in the first half. We weren't competitive at any point during those games or the OSU game. Our defense was bad, but they didn't get much help from our offense.

  • @DrOman5596

You have it completely backwards. That's also not how football works.

Chad Henne was not 7-1 in the Big Ten his freshman year. The team was 7-1. Football is a team sport, you know.

One game does not define a defense. Illinois had the 12th ranked defense coming into our game, left with the 42nd, and still managed to end up in the top 30. Two possibilities...Illinois had a terrible defense or we had a really good offense. Statistics points to the latter.

  • @DrOman5596

    Other problems:

The fact that Denard only scored 1 touchdown against Iowa despite 28 points and 550 yards actually strengthens my argument that our offense was really good.

There are two halves in football. The Iowa game looked like a comeback in full swing...until a crucial missed tackle on third and long. Wisconsin never backed off on defense, if you payed attention.

A top 10 offense is a top 10 offense. You can't tell me those other 9 teams didn't play cupcakes as well.

  • @TheZooCrew (Pt 1) I've never encountered anyone quite as blinded by stats as you. Denard had nothing to do with the "combeback" against Iowa. Forcier lead it with 239 yards and 2 tds. Coming to within two scores in garbage time doesn't = competitive. The fact that Denard had 1 td in 3 quarters shows that he couldn’t put his team in a position to be competitive in a tough game against a good team, something Henne was more than capable of doing as a true freshman.

  • @DrOman5596

Read my comment again. I affirmed that the other 21 points in the Iowa game came from players outside Denard. I clipped a word or two. This is mostly because Denard got injured. How many rushing yards did Henne have his freshman year? His career? How many designed runs?

Try watching the Iowa game again. We were within 7 points at one point in the second half. Plus, Iowa didn't put in its second stringers or change their defense...meaning no garbage time.

  • @TheZooCrew (Pt 2) As for Illinois, forget the stats, Bowling Green's defense played better. Even if Illinois was good in other games, they played atrociously in our game, just look at jr hemmingway’s touchdown. Stats point to the fact that they had a bad day; we could only score 7 points against OSU and 14 points against Miss. St, and we were only competitive against Indiana and Purdue in the big ten.

  • @DrOman5596

"forget the stats, Bowling Green's defense played better."

Without the stats, there's no way to prove that statement. Open mouth, insert foot.

"Even if Illinois was good in other games, they played atrociously in our game"

Or maybe our offense just played up to its potential.

The OSU game was terrible. I can't refute that.

I get the sinking feeling that the loss of Forcier for the bowl game changed the game plan entirely. Denard couldn't run outside of occasional scramble.

  • @DrOman5596

We put up 28 against Iowa and Wisconsin and 31 against Penn State. If we had anything remotely resembling a defense, that would be competitive.

When we won games 14-7 in the '90s and early this decade, was anyone talking about how poor the offense was? Then why are people criticizing the offense when we lose 31-41? Or when we put up 28 points in a half despite the opposing defense remaining aggressive (Wisco)?

  • @DrOman5596

I'm not going to argue that Denard right now is better than Chad Henne ever was. Denard right now is better than freshman Chad Henne, though...Henne had a good defense and serious NFL talent at his disposal.

The main point of my argument is that it's rather foolish to cherry-pick two games and assert that our offense wasn't good.

  • @DrOman5596

*not better as a pure passer, of course, but far more productive as a quarterback.

  • @DrOman5596

Plus, Carr and Henne WERE anemic against good teams...depending on what you judge to be a "good team."

  • @TheZooCrew

They scored NOTHING when it mattered the most. In big games those 34.3 points and 500 yards per game meant nothing. Dude....get over it. Maybe if RR beat State, he'd still have a job. But, he didn't. He didn't even compete with any decent teams and deserved to lose his job.

  • @maizewings

Define "big games." Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa all had good defenses and they got shelled. We only lost two games due to our offense, IMO.

  • @TheZooCrew

you are a dumbass and it's fucking obvious. how many games did we win. yea our defense sucked. but besides shitty teams we didn't even win games cause our offense was shit too. the fact that you try to make fun of me shows how inherently stupid and how much of a pussy you are. now go finger yourself in the box you live in you little bitch.

  • @thecarrotdude All I've gotta say about this comment is, dont knock fingering yourself until you try it.

  • still love "Oh wide open"

  • Dam Henne was beast... wish Michigan gets a QB like him after Robinson

  • @Tmas805

Gardner could be just as good.

  • well as a dolphin fan and us having henne i always liked him from michigan till now. I must say he hasnt been what we expected but hey theirs still hope.

  • @charismatic9904

Henne's working out the kinks, but it's hard to be good when your offensive line consists of Jake Long and four turnstiles.

  • @TheZooCrew very true. hey i live in miami and lifelong dolphin fan so i know lol. plus we have a coach who completely kills his confidence.

  • Wanna know why I loved Henne? He never sat there after a TD, looked for the nearest camera and did the typical self chest pound pointing to the sky "I am the fucking shit" quarterback celebration we see today. No, hes a guy who loves the sport and his team, thats why hes almost always the first one jumping on his teammates in the end zone. Class player.

  • @llSgtScopell How does one underachieve when at the end of his career he leads the school in nearly every significant passing record?

  • @Genetics9100 Ummm did you send that to the right person? I never said he underachieves.

  • @llSgtScopell Yeah meant that for the Amondry2, my bad. :P

  • I was a big fan of Chad Henne. He was tougher than people gave him credit for (Illinois '07 anyone?) and had some amazing wins. But I definitely think he underachieved in his Michigan career...0-4 vs OSU is painful.

  • @amondry At least half of those 4 losses were not his fault. Hell, I'd say all of them were not on him.

  • @amondry

I can't in good conscience blame Henne for any of those OSU losses.
