I was on a Airbus A390 US Airways flight that had to abort takeoff, due to an engine problem - we most likely sucked in a hawk. The braking was unbelievable. I had no idea a plane could stop so fast. The braking was more intense than on a normal landing, and both of our engines were smoking hard when we came to a stop. I missed my connecting flight of course!

@fsxtheworld Well according to the captain, he had stated that upon taking off, and Egyptair B777 had intruded on the runway, causing Lufthansa 411 to stop and reject takeoff. The reason for their return to the gate was because the brakes they had used to stop so quikly on takeoff were very hot, so they had to wait to cool down.

Something as to be done to JFK. Their has been to many nearly misses just this year and their is huge disaster just waiting to happened. But the FAA is the FAA.

Better to wait and wait and act after a fatal incident strikes JFK. Incompetent tax payers wasting FAA.

bin mit dem selben Flieger auch schon mal geflogen. im März 2011 von DEV nach Frankfurt bei mir ging alles gut. Aber ihr habt ein sau mäßiges Glück gehabt das da nichts passiert ist.

You could hear the adrenaline in his voice, both German and English. Too bad we could not see the actual braking. Good piloting by LH411 cap (I assume he was at the helm). It will be interesting to read the full report on this one.
