  • maybe in windows 8, if you drag the window to the bottom of the screen, it will automatically minimize to the taskbar.

  • @spongebobcrazy24 Hold the windows key on your keyboard and press down twice. You can also hold windows key and press left and right to snap to other parts of the screen =]

  • @jlanksbury You have really got to be kidding me.. Seriously just... Go back to the shop with your computer/laptop. Just.. Go.. Nao... GO..

  • i really dont understand the redesign fo the start bar... its realy ugly now like it looks so incomplete... vistas was prettier

  • Personally I think the Windows 7 bar is prettier, looks less cluttered. However the specific reason for the extended 3-4 pixels in height. Is specifically done for Touch Screen Compatibility. It seems like Microsoft are going to be using this on more touch screen devices in the future.

  • @theandyandsamyshow actually i like it now lol

  • @theandyandsamyshow theres an option to make all the icons on the taskbar smaller in taskbar settings

  • snap feature ftw!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like the shake it feature man...i also have loads of windows open...thx for this good review!

  • my window 7 has : ms office 2007 , pinnacle studio 14 ultimate collection and adobe photoshop elements 8

  • You said Windows Shake =P

  • Sorry but its called Aero Shake.. =D

  • xD what did I call it? lol

  • I've just got a new netbook with 7 installed. So your videos are terrific - thanks. One mystery tho' - it's described as 7 Starter. What do think this version lacks that the full system has? I knew this before I bought it and decided to go ahead anyway as I doubt there is anything vital missing.

  • So if im runing windows XP right now wil i have to completely reformat in order to install windows 7 ?

  • You should be able to upgrade. I highly recommend that you do backup your files and format before you install Windows 7. But you should be able to upgrade without formatting =]

  • You can't upgrade from XP. If you choose normal installation, it wipes your XP installation away and just keeps your old files in a new folder called "Windows Old" or something similar.

The term upgrade relates to a new OS that keeps all your programs and settings intact. You can only do this if upgrading from Vista.

  • All 'upgrades' from Windows Discs -replace- the original operating system, hence the word 'upgrade'.

It does however keep your original files. Hence the upgrade instead of clean installation.

the upgrade feature does not format your drive, rather replace the operating system, and retain your files. =]

  • @xXSythenXx I heard that you can only upgrade from Vista and you have to do a full clean install if your doing it from XP :)

  • So it comes with iTunes standard? Why not an iPod?

  • xD No, The first thing I did with Windows 7 was install iTunes because I literally 'need' my music. Or I will die. o.o Nah, I just needed iTunes xD

  • can you move the "show desktop" button to the left side?

  • Sorry mate, No can do :(

  • windows key + number starts program on vista to by quick launch

  • i know it's a major improvement from windows vista but is it an improvement over xp in terms of features and mainly performance?

  • To answer your question, I've used Windows 7 and spent the last few days comparing it to Windows XP. I've found that the performance is the equivalent if not, better than XP!

I've not had one error, and I've not bluescreened at all.. I even tried to force a blue screen by installing an incorrect driver of my graphics card... And I can't get it to blue screen! xD

To answer: Windows 7 improves on both Stability and performance of Windows XP =D

  • sounds good thanks a lot.

Also, does the windows xp mode require me to have the windows xp installation cd or i can just download?

  • If your using Professional, Enterprise or Ultimate if you google Virtual PC Windows 7 you'll find a free download for Virtual PC and a full copy of Windows XP for that.

  • that's good news cause I don't have a copy and really need xp. Thanks a lot for da info.

  • i hope you finish these videos soon =)

    im excited to get this...

if i get my new pc ill get it meow

  • xD thanks very much for commenting! I'd definitely say it's worth buying, however when I get to Windows XP Mode soon, you will understand how amazing Windows 7 is =D Stay tuned!

  • windows xp mode? how do i get that>? i have the home premium

  • I've looked it up, and I'm afraid the answer isn't quite good. Windows XP Mode is not available to download for Home Premium users :( It's only available for free download for Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate users of Windows 7, Sorry :(

  • its ok lol

i got another question...if i reformat my harddrive and then used my recovery disk with windows vista OS and then after that i use the windows 7 upgrade version right after...would my pc boot up more faster?

  • The best thing to do is to format and install Windows 7 straight away, don't bother installing vista and upgrading, it's just time consuming on your part. The best way to install an OS is to format and install it directly =]

  • yeah but i got the upgrade version...

and i have trend and i think that is what slowing my boot up time...i seen the website that norton 360 speeds up...

    what should i do?

right now i boot up over 2 minutes >_>

i just want to boot in 1 minute or less... by the way i have toshiba satellite a205-s4617

  • thanks man nice review, i guess i gotta go buy this
