  • Actually need to update my comment. Mr Ulmer did come over to the South Bank Centre and gave a magical solo performance at the Meltdown in London just this spring: probably best concert I have seen by far in a long time - and I can tell you that I have seen most of the big jazz names that tour these days.....

  • Saw him perform a few times at the Toronto Jazz festival in the early 1990s. The drummer nearly killed him in one show when he brought down a bank of lights crashing inches behind James Blood towards the end of his solo. James Blood didn't even blink, didn't miss a beat, just continued playing. A year later the festival organisers pissed him off and he never returned (to my knowledge anyway). His concerts were religious experiences. Miss his stuff terribly!

  • Mr Ulmer, not sure if you read this. Please start touring again. We need this, now more than ever.

  • He wrote it, he was in Germany at the beginning of this year but I missed him again just like I have over last 16 years

  • 16 years is quite a long wait - what did he write??

  • Sorry, lost my English for a second I guess, I meant to say that James read your comment haha

  • honeybozo, I couldn't agree with you more. James Blood Ulmer, please start touring again, on a massive scale---we miss you in California.
