In case you didn't know...when cats "knead" anything like that, its a throwback from their kitten days, when they would push on mommas belly to get more milk out during feeding time. You can even talk to your cat by slowly closing and opening your eyes while staring at them. Often they will do it back to you, its an affectionate gaze to them. Try it! :)

they do it to keep their claws sharp, if they dont their claws can fall off, its nothing serious, they grow back very quickly. But that is why every cat should have a scratchpost :)

No their claws won't fall off. their claws "molt" to keep sharp, so you find what looks like a claw on the floor but it is from the molting. they scratch things to help with the process. and yes, cats claws do grow very very quickly.

I do this to my cat. She loves it. It's the way hes cupping his hands. pay attention. and Its not hurting Loki ant all. Cory is a great owner for his cats. Sparta has Leukimia and he still looks amazing because hes taking care of him real well. Hes not doing anything cruel at all to Loki.
