  • epic !

  • All must bow to Ritchie!

  • he one and only, the King Ritchie Blacmore

  • If Led Zeppelin get into the R&R hall of fame then so should Deep Purple. Every bit as good, in fact BETTER.

  • someone please tell me which concert was this (one)... (kinda important...)

  • @SDJrekoff

The title says last show with ritchie...which makes it Helsinki 1993.

I saw them just before this at Birmingham NEC..the scene of the water throwing incident!

  • BlackmoreHi I wish you success

  • Ritchie, this was great solo. Nice to see you in action in video. KR H

  • 666666

Caricato da tedylee in data 12/mar/2007

Solo of deep purple child in time by ted's, my favorite music, ritchie blackmore a monster of rock ! but steve morse too in deep purple, two different styles but two talent ! deep purple forever ! and i went the 20 march at rouen to see my bands ! so ... good ! i want that this band stay please !! ^^ its so... godband, talent, unbelievable !! 1183 Mi piace, 23 Non mi piace

  • Blackmore produces sounds from his guitar which seem to eminate from magical far off lands. He is a unique and quite extraordinary musician.

  • Typical Blackmore: Guitar God

My pulse hits 130+ every time I listen to it

  • 2:34 when he puts his finger in the air. pure epicness

  • @SkyValleySpaceCadet

What's epic about putting your finger in the air you idiot?

If I could find you and kick your fucking arse, now THAT would be epic!!

  • @spacecowboy7580 interaction with the crowd while doing such a solo? anyway, how old are you, 12?

  • @SkyValleySpaceCadet

Looking at it again...it is a signal to Jon lord..just before he holds his finger up he looks at lord and nods...then the finger signals a change of tempo...nothing at all to do with audience participation....and definitely not epic...except in your warped little brain.

  • @spacecowboy7580 do you really think on the best bands in the world had to give obvious signals like this? he even had his eyes closed and they probably played this solo hundreds of times. he was just playing the public you dumb fuck, while being in an awesome solo. pure entertainment, and you're a dumb fuck.

  • @SkyValleySpaceCadet

    Calling me a dumb fuck doesn't mean you're right...and you're not!

Dp worked out an elaborate series of signals to say whether they going to a solo, or changing tempo etc...and he may have had his eyes closed, but I could as long as i knew your general direction I could flip a middle finger to you with my eyes closed, not difficult..also..Ritchie rarely played the same solo note for note.

    Learn some DP history..Dumb fuck!

  • @spacecowboy7580 I bet you're not a musician. they know this stuff by hard. they don't give obvious signals like that. they don't need obvious signals like that. in many cases Lord didn't even see Blackmore on stage, so how would he signal? also he, Roger Glover is standing between Lord and Blackmore, so you really think Lord in constantly looking for Blackmore's signals? he just acted to the public that he suddenly remembered the last part of the awesome solo. you're full of shit

  • @SkyValleySpaceCadet

In your first rant to me you described DP as the best band in the world..I wouldn't argue with that, but now you're saying that Ritchie " forgot " part of his solo, then suddenly remembered and stuck his finger in the air..crap.

It's well documented that they used hand signals on stage, just because you haven't bothered to read anything about the band.

Ritchie did the same with Rainbow too.

Sod off and read a book numb nuts.

  • @spacecowboy7580 HE PRETENDED LIKE HE FORGOT TO PLAY THE AUDIENCE YOU MONG

  • @SkyValleySpaceCadet

Oh Oh...using capitals now...that doesn't mean you're right..and neither does calling me names. I hope you realise that.

He wasn't pretending anything, he was giving a signal...I read in Blackmore's Biography just this morning that he did this with Lord Sutch and The Savages, and carried it on to DP and Rainbow...now why don't you stop the futile arguing and go and read a book?

    Because you're...WRONG!!!

Please don't reply..I certainly won't respond if you do.

  • @spacecowboy7580

So holding up your finger is interacting with the crowd?

What bullshit...It was more likely a signal to Jon Lord...but still hardly epic.

You sir, are a fucking muppet...bend over....prepare to receive my boot.

  • how the fuck he can play so creative

  • Ritchie can definitely go all medievil on that ax.

  • he's so good, he doesn't even play the original song, he creates another one even better!

  • All hail guitar God Ritchie Blackmore

  • RIP Deep Purple with Blackmore...

  • i had the luck of watching this guitar god in the birmingham nec on the house of blue light tour, the only time i've ever seen him and to this day i still smile about that night...

  • hey world good music not todays shitfest!!

  • donnerwetter

  • @frankgarus

jo einer der letzten seiner art. erinnert mich an rory gallagher.

und natuerlich an rainbow mit dio

  • I always liked the first note of this solo he bends on the origanal recording. i heard it as a kid and remember it was powerful to me, When I heard it on the live in japan album I was expecting to blast off into the heavens when the solo came up but It sucked .I like the live album 72 but ''child in time solo' has never been the same since original because improvising is a lot more cooler than playing the spacy parts whatever

  • Divine master Ritchie Blackmore !!!

  • "im so happy to live in this world" -- up yours and your world

  • Saw them At Pittsburgh's Civic Arena in '84. Fantastic show!

  • @palestineoliver

You do know Hendrix's name is "Jimi?"

  • People and friends often says. He's better than Ritchie, I don't like Ritchie's sound, his riffs, it's not beatiful, smooth..... That guitarplayer is faster...and so on..Those who says so has one thing in common..They don't play guitar, or they will never have the skills to try to play these things. The only one that playes similar to Blackmore is his "son", Yngwee Malmsteen, and he does it very well. And the same people doesn't like Malmsteen either....

  • @geir1305 Blackmore has a son named Yngwie malmsteen?

  • @ Iw48wp4 I certainly agree.

  • Ritchie was miles ahead everyone in the late 60's and early 70's. He was the first who played modes and harmonic minors in rock style. He's the inventor of shredding, to do very fast arpeggios with picking, new ways of tremolobar use, invented scalloping, mastervolume amp. Listen and count where you can hear a single note error...Has a brilliant slide technique, no errors. The one and only guitar God. He's the reason I started playing.

  • @geir1305 Even now Ritchie is miles ahead everyone. I don't like the high speed "guitar heroes" and they all copied some of Ritchies techniques. In my opinion he is now even better than in the 70's but I know that many people don't think so. But it doesn't matter. The only fact is: RITCHIE IS THE BEST!

  • Blackmore the best!

  • flying fingers = =

  • He's right there with Alvin Lee, from Ten Years After fame. It would have been nice to see both play together.

  • best guitarist in the world list should look like this

    1. ritchie blackmore

    2. buckethead

    3. korean/japanese wonder kid with playing 2 guitars at once(forgot name xD)

    4. the famous rest(slash,van halen,jimmy page,hendrix,malmsteen etc)

  • @WizardOnAcid7 lol jimmy page got nothing on blackmore, but then again no one does. buckethead is the closest i have seen to ritchie blackmore's superiority on guitar but beside him everyone else is just 1 level below.;)

  • whoever the hell thinks Hendrix was the best, is obviously stupid and deaf.

  • Dustys song!!

  • The one(s).

  • Gia vestito da Folletto?Anticipava...

  • Not bad.

  • BORRING

  • haha at 2.37 Richie remembers that riff he was going to play earlier in the song.

  • Ritchie Blackmore is THE virtuoso on guitar!!

  • ¡ Blackmore is God !

  • Ritchie puts everything he has on that sweet custom Stratocaster. His aggressive passion for music is addicting to me. I cannot seem to get enough of Ritchie with Jon Lord and the rest of the Mark ll lineup. Paicey, Glover and Lord hold down the bottom while Gillan and Blackmore do Their guitar; and voice magic. When these guys are in the pocket they can really cook like no other band thats even close to their caliber of playing.

  • God of Guitar is Ritchie Blackmore !

  • Ritchie Blackmore blows my freakin mind every time he gives asolo

  • fantastic axe player shame he's a big prima donna twat

  • I hope people who watch this undertsand how seriously good this is

  • That's as fast and clean as I've seen him, he's almost outplaying the guitar.

  • Blackmore and Lord had some of the best improvising skills, especially together. They complimented eachother so good.

  • RNR HoF is full of crap...DP are better off not among that......

  • F***ing amazing!!! Blackmoore's the best period

  • Blackmore along with Leslie West gives me about what I`m looking for in guitar players.

  • How Ritchie Blackmore, Deep Purple, and Rainbow aren't in the R&R Hall of Fame is beyond me. They'll induct the likes of Madonna, U2, and R.E.M., but no mention of some of the most influential musicians in the history of Rock. Go figure.

  • @dmreeoogdaq says more about R&R Hall of than of DP..

  • @dmreeoogdaq The hall of fame is gay they give high priority only to lousy musician's like the one's you mentioned no place for real talent in there

  • @dmreeoogdaq REM are not bad!!

  • Pish

  • WOW!!! AMAZING!!!

  • Fantastic. I saw them live in 1987 but this show is even better. Blackmore is amazing.

  • 0:56 - 1:03

Does anyone know what he does and how he does it?!? It sounds strange but great...

Blackmore = Best guitar player ever!

  • 1:47

    ROFL

  • It sure grates me when Ritchie is put down by ignorant DP fans. Who gives a flock if he smiles, just listen to the music!

  • It is written not to have Idols. There are many great people in the world, and in the world of excellent guitar work there is non other than Ritchie. I've loved his playing since '69. I saw Deep Purple in 1970 here in this part of the world. Yup; I think it was 1970 when I first saw Purple Mark II and have loved this band since way back then. When these guys are in the pocket they can't be beat as they sure know how to cook. May God bless these guys and the awesome raw power they have.Ritchie!!

  • Great solo and performance, big ups to Ritchie. That is right from the soul.

  • And thats why he's one of my biggest Idols =)

  • The best rock band ever far more talented then any ... zepplin , the who , any of them . Ian pace, guillan ,glover blackmore and oh my god john lord ! I dare ya to try and piece together a better band !

  • 2:37 how goes the end? ah yes.. :D

  • TIGHT! Some killer frett work.

  • Good, but the studio version is just unbeatable.

  • @anonymouslolxD my words

  • im so happy to live in this world

  • fenomenalno,uh

  • Great solo!! Great sound!!

  • my favorite guitar player.......

  • ritchie the best guitar player of al time, bravo maestro

  • try to play it yourself first in such a way before you say it sucks!

  • What a shit solo!

  • I m so glad I uded the right word. : ]

  • It sounds cocky but very often I am right yes. : ]

  • @purpelaar Your very right; it sounds cocky ;-)

  • Because he also chose to adopt a way of singing far too high he wasted his vocalchords I think.

He, like Gillan, drinks and smokes too much.

But still he could be great staying in his lower range.

The lower range is ofcourse good butin DP he has too force himself as well IMHO.

Glenn does not look that part anymore although I agree he was the rock icon image himself way back.

I still have long hair, but in the end the inside does matter, not the look.

    Dontya think so as well?

  • @purpelaar Your so right :-)

  • Ofcourse I meant......

Ritchie does not want to do it.

  • Several problems.

1 I dont think wants to.

2 DC live has become terrible.

3 Glenn is EXCELLENT but does not understand that he must contain himself and refrain from too much screaming and Michael Jackson kinda outings.

Its a shame because he can do EVERYTHING.

  • @purpelaar I agree but still hope... Glenn have allways been my fauvorite in DP, look at the California Jam, just hair, bass and voice, but I can even agree; he takes it to fare somethimes. Whats the issue with DC?

  • I m not a hater, believe me.

Although that might sound contradictionairy reading my comments.....

MK 3 is cool, but I dont think it will happen.

What do you think of BCC?

  • @purpelaar I love Glenn and everything hes doing, also with BCC. The reason I am hoping for a MK3 reunion is that have have seen both Glenn and David recently and they seems a lot fresher than Ian and Roger.

  • Actually I m kinda sweet.

    Like Ritchie.

But unbearable when tortured too much with stupidity.

    Cheers Man!

    Mark

  • @purpelaar OK, Love and peace to you too then Mark. I have been an devoted DP fan since I was 10 (`75) and my dream for the band now is a reunion of MK3 (don`t hate me again, he-he...)

    Cheers from Erling in Norway

  • So then dont use stupid Americain streettalk in here.

We are talking about an ENGLISH class rock band not Motley Crue.

Dudes and words like that are for empty eggheads in California where they have roasted their brains too much in the sun.

You just admitted it, after 16 years of Horrible charade and travesty its completely legitimate to conclude the Morse era is a sham.

Who thinks differently just dont have a clue, incl strupid magazines like Rolling Stone or the so called Guitar magazines.

  • @purpelaar JC your angry man... Let me refrase; love and peace to all DP fans whos normal in the head ;-)

  • ... congas, really? Ian, why even bother with those things, man?? It's not like anyone can hear them over the sound of Ritchie being 1983465 times better than Steve Morse.

  • @DPboy20

I always thought he and the others, except for GH and Tommy , were good old British boozers?

Dont know much about Gillan and drugs.

If there is an excuse......He did not want to leave really in 72 but felt alone in the band and resigned.

    Maybe he got depressed.

I think he was still in great shape and that got lost forever when he left.

  • @DPboy20

You people should check your doctor.

RB was in dubious form during PS but got better and better after that.

Maybe I should say : he played well in the PS period but he was messing around with a non fitting style?

  • @Zebonka

fIFirst know that it is JON, not JOHN.

  • @OraculumScientia

Why should he smile or please people?!

    Its not group therapy!!!!

When you want a smile look at some fucking cartoons!!!

  • @sixtiestone66

Interesting. But in 85/86 it was not JLT at the helm.

Maybe 4 or 5 years later?

  • @OraculumScientia

Morsy always smiles because he is a monkey on Gillans shoulders.

  • @sontam99

It only proves 90 % of people in the world deserve euthanasia.

    Waste of sperm and egg.

  • @Behaltihn

    And who are you?

  • @babygurl9000

I once made passionate love during listening the live take from Made In Japan.

  • @JoolsGuitar

You better pick older versions on IN ROCK, Live In Japan(preferebly the triple box that is, timeless)

  • @xylex81

I would kill myself too if I was that bad.

His VOICE is even more depressing.

  • @jk31213

Are you DUTCH?It seems that you used something and translated it literally.

    "Het hem steeds weer flikken......"

Its not even civilised DUTCH man.

  • @AXL22234

    RB once praised Cobain.

I still hope he was taking the piss.

    I agree completely man.

NIRVANA was , like so much "music" the celebration of hate and ugliness.

Punk, NEW WAVE, DEATH METAL and stuff like that, it s a pile of SHIT made by bad musicians that did climb up due to democratism.

  • @tuomiju

One of the great mysteries is that DP was in fine form live in 1988 and still they broke up.

Maybe becauise Ritchie felt insulted that Glover and Gillan made an album which is is NICE but they call it a masterpiece.

Flirting with RAP, liking house music, and so on.......Understandable they got out of sync?

  • @girvan123

Thank God I m not the only one. At THS they suggest I m just one of the Last Mohicans.

It s also noticeable that RB s stuff gets wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more reactions on the Net than Morse s.

  • @evelskunny

People who always refer to THIS DVD show they know nothing.

It wasnt the best of them all and everyone should know that.

Apart from that, you must be a real fool not appreciating the quantum quality in his live playing.

  • @beerdeddi

he got into it yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaarssssssssssssssss before "the thing" became noticed like it has been in the last decade.

  • @hellraiserfloydrose

I d be depressed too if my band was letting me down and chosing an unprofessional man like Gillan.

  • @sontam99

    A matter of taste.

    We re talking PURPLE here.

In DP nobody cuts the mustard except for TMIB.

  • @HANSABEER

Well, you just really discredited yourself.

    DUDE?

    Maybe you are a dude.

    He is RITCHIE BLACKMORE.

  • @purpelaar I am not fucking stupid and I have seen DP with both Morse and Blackmore and I would prefeer Ritchie ANYTIME when it comes to DP. You have taken my statement from a discussionn here about R.B vs S.M generally. Love and Peace to all DP fans :-)

  • @sontam99

Appearantly "you people" think Ritchie JUST plays rock.

    How ignorant.

Blackmore s influences do not just stem from rock, caprice?!

  • @sontam99

No, because as a real fan I saw many shows and got fed up with them.

Even more important : why dont they play the GOOD ones from their OWN catalogue?

Appearantly you say they dont have any or not enough!!!!

  • @sontam99

    45 E a ticket a fair price???!!!!

  • @lilithazel

    You got it babe!

    hehehehe

  • @clicheeurosk8er

On a honest day, ahem, Gillan would agree wholeheartedly.

    But he s a liar.

  • @sontam99

Maybe he meant that DP without RB are not able to write real classics like Enya and TBRO?

Surely not helping is the FACT that nowadays DP underplayed the goodies of the Morse era for so long now.

    Appearantly they KNOW.

  • @purpelaar

    Enya...wtf is that?

    Try Anya..Mr Iknoweverythingaboutdeeppurple.

  • @seventiesclassic

Yep, ANYA, sorry, me not worthy.......

    Was getting tired.

I could not help myself and read everything on this tube.

    What I am?

The most stubborn Blackmore fan you ll ever meet/know.

    Cheers from Rotterdam, Mark

  • @purpelaar Deep Purple without Ritchie is like being in a racecar with no motor.

  • @sontam99

I agree, he is doing massive stadiumtours all alone without DP, whahahahahaha.

  • @sontam99

WHO CARES A SHIT ABOUT THAT WHEN LISTENING??????!!!!!

  • @clicheeurosk8er

    you are really using something.....

  • @clicheeurosk8er

Whatever makes you happy Dude but SPEED is overrated.

Thats called patronising against his fans.

There is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more to his playing than just speed.

  • @89notes

Since when is Tommy one of the new guys?

  • @saberbazer LOL. he wasn't touching the thing though... hmm

  • Which country was this gig in?

  • the best guitar player of the planet, bravo maesrto

  • THE most articulate guitarist out there. period

  • Ritchie is so self - involved, I wonder if he even thought that this was the end with band or if he was just thinkin' "Get me off of this effin stage!" I truly believe that he is one of the greatest impresarios of our time and his legacy of influence will last for generations to come. I'm glad he is doing something he "wants" to do with Blackmore's Night. I suppose if I had Candice to wake up to every morning, I wouldn't want to leave home either...

  • Blackmore is GREAT!! Simple!!

  • When Ritchie is on form he is just outstanding. The fluidity of his playing is stunning. The problem arises when Ritchie isn't on form and theres too many youtube videos of that. All the guitar critics and guys who love there 'who's better then who' debates must remember this simple fact:

Ritchie Blackmore couldn't give a shit what you think. He has his music, his hot wife and his millions to keep him busy.

  • hmm. what is that black box thing on his guitar, behind the bridge?

  • this is from a dvd called come hell or high water deep purple live 1993 u can get it at amazon and its the dvd ian gillan wanted to ban because he and blackmore really werent getting on at this time at certain stages in this concert ritchie kept walking off stage over a row he and ian had but its still a great performance and beats anything the new guitarist in deep purple could dream of ritchie forever

  • Holy crappero, that rocked the house xD

  • @alexsamuraiuuu Thats a fucking gay comment, get a grip of ur life and self... dick

  • @cheeseman456 I don't get why all the hate dude. Can you be more specific with your critisism?

  • Richie-ն վերջնա ժողովուրդ

  • show us the whole video, tedylee ...

  • watch?v=c5pMcOz4k6o

  • Blackmore is fantastic.

Where is the rest of the composition ? Beginning ? End ?

@tedylee in your hamfisted effort to post a video people will watch you have butchered a timeless masterpiece. WTF is wrong with you man ???!!!

  • M A S T E R !

  • Ritchie is more than guitar player, he is guitar god. He is the best, DP music is wonderful and i just love Child in Time. I hope one day I will have chance to hear his live performance!

  • whats that thing on his guitar??

  • @sonoranguitarlois

    Strings

  • Great stuff. Not knocking Ritchie or DP, for me he needs them to truly showcase his talent & DP just isn't DP without Ritchie. I find him HUGELY underrated in guitar magazines. You always hear about Hendrix, Clapton, & Page. For me it is all about Jeff Beck & Ritchie Blackmore.

  • HE IS THE MASTER

  • what the hell man.....fucking crazy solo

  • magic....

  • Comment removed

  • the last show is in helsinki, november, 1994

  • Chi al mondo suona la chitarra in modo più veloce, efficace e talentuoso ?

Chi mai al mondo ha maggiore padronanza dello strumento?

    Forse neppure Hendrix.

If in 1968 Clapton was God, in that case Blackmore is Lord almighty God.

    Angelo Balzano

  • nice rug....

  • very poor solo, unexpected from ritchie. was better he does as did in japan one.

  • RITCHIE Ctrl+C --->  YNGWIE Ctrl+V

  • long live the buket.............

  • ritchie blackmore the man who practically invented shredding on the guitar without him players like malmsteen and vai would be nobodys he is one of the most underrated players ever when is he going to get the recognition he deserves its wrong players like malmsteen get a lot of praise when the man who invented his style barely gets noticed

  • @shredmaster100 I think shredding is not born with Ritchie Blackmore. The neo-classical style yes. But fast guitarist, surely different, there was been also without him. Angus Young, Jimi Hendrix, Alvin Lee, Johnny Winters, Ted Nugent... this men plays very fast in a bluesy way, they not depend on Ritchie's lesson.

Said this, I LOVE the way of Blackmore of playing and improvisating.

  • Ritchie is BAD AS HELL on this man... Love this song...
