  • @10mannyman Dude... I saw these people live many times. You don't know what you're talking about. Why do you have to compare them and say this one was "more talented" than that one? WTF? Something tells me the only instruments you play are the organ and the mouthpiece.

  • @emaleroland good for u dude so u know it all i guss u saw everyboody an u know every thing u don't know one thing about me so f-ck off who ask'ed u any how so how many time have i seen dp you don't know do u,so u feel better when u run ur nouth eat shit prick

  • @10mannyman Someone doesn't know how to play well with others. Doesn't matter how many time you saw DP. You're doing comparisons for no reason other than to make noise. Nobody cares. Relax. Take a lude. Do something constructive rather than destructive.

  • @emaleroland i know how to spell jack off

  • @10mannyman I'll bet you do know how to spell "jack off." You're probably typing with one hand right now.

  • @emaleroland ur moms a slut

  • Battle to the death.... I hope that guy is dead.

  • Did Robert Plant and Jimmy Page not do the same thing on YOU SHOOK ME (1968)

  • The guy at the 8min mark is a snobby elitist prick who obviously hasn't done a lot of research into heavy metal.

  • all i hav to say about this argument between Purple and Zeppelin is, watch the Led Zeppelin Plagiarism videos on youtube

  • @laithlaith91 Child in time is plagiarism too, so chut up...

  • Machine Head was a crap album... Made in Japan was the one the pushed the edge and lit the fire that has never gone out.

  • This is in 1973 at the NY university, not in Japan.

  • Gillan - Blackmore : Talk to each other !!!

  • There's alway a place for a good drum solo on an album in my book!

  • Would you like whether to agree or not, Western Philosophy seems to be beginning by Plato ending by Plato; Western Rock music therefore, as if a same token, to be beginning by Deep Purple ending by Deep Purple as well---!! This video is good explications about DP!

  • lnteresting, I hate it when good bands dont get along.

Very interesting my friend thanks for sharing.

  • It's amazing how incredibly wrong these so called music critics can be... the footage here is not from the Made in Japan concerts. In fact, no video footage was ever filmed of that 72 tour, only audio. The footage here is from New York in 73 and Denmark a few years earlier. And I have to say, in response to another commenter comparing each member of Purple against Led Zeppelin's members, it's outrageous, both were great bands and completely different to each other!

  • q pasa los videos son formidables pero que hacen esos tarados interrumpiendo con sus comentarios retrogradas algo que es ya logico deep purple es algo grandioso,no mamen

  • The segments of Paice's solo in this vid were no different than watching Buddy Rich, and Rich was doing this kind of stuff many years before. Seems pretty redundant.

  • Who are these pompous puds spouting their psudeo-intelectual flatulence?

  • some part is from new york 73 others made in japan or denmark 72

  • You have been wrong, the DVD calls "MADE In JAPAN" and not Deep Purple "History, Hits & Highlights '68 - '76", that has been written from who has published that video on youtube. I have bought it varied years ago and on the DVD and also on the cover is written there in bold type "MADE In JAPAN!" Buy it, and then we see who the idiot is!

  • watch?v=zkiYh4pZOP8

  • one of my favorites songs

  • compare Deep Purple with Led Zeppelin? WHY? Both are bloody amazing. I'd give my left hand to hear a new band like them these days!

  • I get you're lef-handed lol

  • FUCK YOU! Purple will always remain the better musicians out of the two. Even though I like zeppelin, they're nowhere near as complex as purple.

  • Complex my balls, wanker.

  • in comedy, it used to be the greatest compliment to steal someone's material. I think the same applies to music as well.

  • Deep purple is a fantastic group. Nobody can do the same. Deep purple rocks

  • Hey! Deep Purple copied that from Led Zeppelin! Gillan copied from Blackmore! Plant copied from Page! And sometimes for Led Zeppelin, Page copied from Plant! Lol! They did that since 1968... I'm just saying, Deep Purple wasn't the first...

  • and hendrix did it with buddy miles.

but remember zeppelin stole all of the stuff there known for

  • Hendrix created Voodoo Child (Slight Return). All bands/artists didn't call it ripping, or stealing or any of that, they called it a tribute. Zeppelin 12 songs were ripped, most of them were just portions of a lyrics (or the song Lemon Song and Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You, which was lyrical completely ripped off) or Jimmy rarely ripped, he was all original, but he made the original his by changing so much (well by adding original stuff). Stfu, you don't know anything, not stole all the stuff...

  • but what I meant is Gillan copying the guitar sound with his voice, the actual first to do that was Led Zep...

  • buddy miles and jimi hendrix band of gypsies first three nights at the filmore well before plant and paige did it.

its also a blues thing that went well back in to the call and response days. plant and paige NEVER did any thing of there own

  • hey fuck u... God Page and Plant did a lot of things! ORIGINALLY! Yes! I mean only 12 songs outta their 92 songs were considered ripped, and only 5 of them were really ripped while the others were just a portion... And all the other 80 song WERE by their own... Thanks for the info about Buddy Miles and Hendrix. But still WHOA! "plant and paige NEVER did any thing of there own" so much errors on that, but we don't give a fuck... But what you said there, is completely wrong... u should know better

  • what about Black Dog, how was that ripped? It wasn't... What about Heartbreaker? Hell, people even know the song All Of My Love, and that wasn't ripped, was it? You want me to say other 'ORIGINAL' songs by Led Zeppelin, I know everything about Led Zeppelin... And the songs The Ocean! Immigrant Song! Moby Dick (but still has a big influence on Watch Your Step)! Houses Of The Holy! Kashmir!!! No Quarter! Over The Hills And Far Away! Tangerine! And MANY MORE! So BREAK!

  • 5:00 reminds me of waynes world 1 with garth in the music store....

  • lol it really does!

  • He had some chops. listen to his use of paradiddles and 6 stroke rolls. They guy was a schooled drummer not some rock and roll dip shit.

  • ian paice is one of the all time greatest. i cant even recall a single time i've heard him make a mistake.

  • John Bonham never made a mistake... And he was amazing, he knows how to groove and has soul for the drums, and he can play slow perfectly and fast amazingly...

  • bonham is terrific and in many ways is the best of all time. but he made plenty of mistakes during his improvised live solos. however, nothing by any means is wrong with that. as it is improvisation and naturally calls for mistakes. plus what the guy was doing was nigh impossible to do perfect it was so challenging. i love bonham.

  • RIP Bonzo, but sometimes Bonzo looked like he was on fastforward, you know you take a DVD or tape and press on the fastforward button, that's how Bonzo fucking looked like when he was doing a finish tiny drum solo at an end of a song... Like Dazed And Confused and Rock And Roll, but Royal Albert Hall solo! Wow! How did he thought of that, everything freaking works together and sounded great!

  • yeah i've watched that solo many a time and its always impressive.

  • Bottom line is Ian Paice is a better drummer than Bonham was, Ritchie Blackmore is way better guitarist than Page, Ian Gillan kicks Plants ass every day of the week, Jon Lord owns jones and Glover is Glover period !!!!

  • You can't say who is better... You can say which one you prefer, but no one is "better"...

  • Yeah, I guess your right. I prefer the better band !!!

  • You're guessing my right? The direction of my right, why guess that? But there is no better band, there is only your favorite band...

  • Did you just try to say something.

  • I didn't try to say something, but i did typed something on my keyboard to reply to you.

  • "You're guessing my right? The direction of my right" has no meaning. You need to go to the top of page where it says search and type in Led Zeppelin, you'll probably have better luck with people who might agree with you, not so much here though !!!

  • They are both very well talented bands, no one can be 'more talented'... Using the words 'more talented' is saying that the person who said doesn't even understand what talent is... You can be talented and that's it, you just play your music, create your own songs, jam and have fun, that's what Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple did, they didn't care for each other... They are both good, just cause Deep Purple is your favorite doesn't mean it is better (or 'more talented')... Just listen to the music!

  • @purpledude603 ......haha Bonham is a monster...he blows Paice away.....Page is a genius and a farr better musician than Blackmore...hahaha...Plant is just cooler ..ok... Ian Gillan may have had a wider vocal range...but plant sings whit so mutch more emotion....Jonesy is just all over the place...Led Zeppelin all the way!!!!

  • @Srbin933 Not so much !!

  • @purpledude603 You probably love Purple...as much as i love Zeppelin...so i can see where you are coming from....

  • @purpledude603 deep purple are a great band but zeppelin are way better

even highway star sucks in comparison to whole lotta love

    well,every song does ;)

  • @LeidseMorgueplein They're both good bands. It's not a contest.

  • @purpledude603 I was just checking out some DP stuff and noticed that I loved your comment then I thought I should be friends w/ this guy ,,then looked at your name (looked very familiar) and ...no surprise..we ALREADY are! : )

  • @jeepgirlie70 Thank you for the nice words. I hope you are doing great...Cheers !

  • @purpledude603 You're high. Both bands were great, none better than the other. Enjoy the music and stop the madness. How old are you, 10?

  • 9:19...haha. proves the guys point perfectly. gillan doesnt look too happy

  • puto

  • This isnt live in japan....it s live at university (New York?)a few months later..

  • Right... but the title of DVD is "Deep Purple's Made in Japan". Ciao

  • Hofstra University, Long Island, NY

  • no this is live in denmark a few weeks before made in japan. its a dvd that was officially released

  • Here we have Britain's most renowned music critics, giving the band their well deserved due. How very fitting.

  • Best live rock band ever. Check out Paice's solo. Incredible stuff
