Australians only celebrate it if they can get pissed while leaving the kids at home. Our kids did some Trick or Treating last year(2010) for their first time and loved it despite the quietness.
Haha You crack me up! That isn't even a pumpkin it is only half a butternut squash hahahahahahahahha!!!!!!!!! This is the naturally funny stuff that makes me laugh hahaha! KNIGHT RIDER SHIRT FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't find it strange at all. Every country has their own traditions and holidays. It's not fair to assume everyone celebrates everything that we here in the US and Canada celebrate.
Second biggest. I can't watch scary movies at all.
You guys must be getting great reception with those antennas on your heads. :P
Love the classic Knight Rider shirt, Tim!
Cool. One group. I think you're right about it being on the rise. :D
@journeysoflifevlogs I purchased that Knight Rider shirt for Tim when I had my 80s party I use to want a car like Kitt : ) Yep Halloween was a huge success here : D
I haven't had a real Halloween in 26 years as a canadian-swiss living in Switzerland ... so I really appreciate my Youtube community to bring me into the spirit ! sounds like you had a fun evening and I'd love to have a Thai Pumpkin soup ! loved your decorations ! take care !
@dagocleo Well I guess every country has it's unique celebrations and Halloween isn't really a Swiss or Australian thing. I love Thai food and really enjoy cooking. Thanks for watching
We had pumpkin soup, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pie, and pumpkin bread. Well, you have to be careful with the horror movies. I like "American Werewolf in London" best, because of the humor included. Y'all look good with the antennas on and the fangs are looking good. I think your getting the spirit. It's a Pagan thing at it's roots. Oh! my! Your house looks GREAT! ...and you got a trick or treater! That's great! ...maybe with your help, it will catch on...
@HarveyEspatchelowe Hey I really like your Halloween vlog. I usually like my horror movies with a bit of humour I saw this one called "Severance" and it is a British horror/black comedy more to my liking. Thanks we tried ha ha.
@BlueFlamingoVlogs I guess some times I just have to repeat myself. I guess some times I just have to repeat myself. Everyone has been making so many videos latley it is hard to keep up to date : )
Glad you had fun with Halloween!...You two are so cute together...looks like he may have the Youtube fever now...hehe...Oh ...you and your spiders...hehe
@DawndeeDALLAS I usually can't get him in my videos but he is getting more use to me chasing him around with my video camera. Sorry about the spiders again ha ha.
Hi Tamara!!! It is so Good for you and your husband that you took part in Halloween this year! The two of you made a hilarious video of your holiday together. I had my husband watch it with me, I told him you were by best You Tube friend from Australia :) He thought your video was great too.
Now that I know that you do not normally celebrate Halloween I am even more excited to let you know that I too posted a Halloween vid. I know you'll enjoy it, too bad you couldn't have celebrated here!
@myrapidheartbeat Yes we had fun. I am so happy my husband Tim took part in this video. Your hubbie will have to make an appearance in one of your vids. Maybe not one of your singing videos (unless he can sing). I loved your Halloween video. Fantastic!
Oh that's so cool you got into Halloween! Was the bird saying something? I think that's the first time I've seen your husband. THAT would have been a great vlog moment, scaring. WOW and you had trick or treaters.
@HeyThatsMike Yes my bird was saying "Hello Spooky scratches Spooky boy kiss Spooky" Yes my husband is slowly slowsly getting use to me vlogging and I have even convinced him to be in a video yay. One of those trick or treaters is my niece she was the little witch. : )
Loved your decorations out front! Yay for getting a few trick-or-treaters! We only got 15 kids this year, but that is more than we had last year! I've never had pumpkin soup, but it looked good! Cute little pumpkin face you made on that squash! LOL
@mysteryglo Thanks you! One of those trick-or-treaters was my niece. There seems to be some confusion about what is a squash and what is a pumpkin ha ha I think we just use different words for things here in Australia. It was squash, pumpkin and carrot soup.
@bundangbear Hi, Aha okay us weirdo Aussies actually call it a butternut pumpkin just one of those odd little differences in language we call cookies...biscuits and we call soda...fizzy drink ha ha. Wow you grow them that is fantastic Tim and I have a vegie garden have grown all sorts of vegetables but have never grown these squash/pumpkin they look like they would take up a lot of room to grow.
Hey he didn't say trick or treat to get his candy! FAIL! I was actually pretty excited about Halloween this year, because I moved to a much bigger, safer apartment. I wasn't getting trick or treaters for 14 years at the old place, but here at the new place I actually got a few!
@genmama1955 Yay that is fantastic that you got some trick or treaters. No Tim did not say trick or treat but honestly it would have been too dangerous to try and take it back off him. : )
LOL! you guys are funny. One group of kids, huh? well at least you tried. I actually didn't mind the movie people under the stairs...it was a little bizarre but I didn't think it was terrible...hehe.. have a good one. Tam & Tim
@TheDarksEmpyrean Yep seriously just one group of kids...that's Halloween in Australia. You didn't mind "The People Under the Stairs"? Really? ha ha I wasn't scared just greatful that I have such a normalish family. All the people under the stairs looked a little like Meatloaf but skinnier. Happy Halloween.
@familymatters1234 Some of the older movies are the scariest like "Rosemary's Baby", "The Exodist" "The Omen" Eeek all very scary I did like "Shaun of the Dead" the people under the stairs didn't cut it for me. Happy Halloween.
We like to celebrate candy! hahah I love Halloween, but I think it's mostly I just like the cooler weather. haha I think it's wonderful that you got into or tried to get into the spirit of Halloween! I celebrate it as the end of summer although for you it's the beginning of summer, right? Love the decorations, I didn't even put any up this year! oh the little plastic collar on your birds neck I never seen one so small! Hope you had a good Halloween!
@jellybean4501 So it's true it's a celebration of candy : ) it is the start of summer here perhaps that is the real reason we don't celebrate it here overheated kids dressed up with melted bags of chocolate ha ha. Our bird Spooky has issues he likes to pluck his feathers so we put that collar on him in the evenings. Happy Halloween : )
lol Wonderful video! Great that Halloween is being celebrated there, and you both look excellent in those wiggly antennae! Haha!! The trick or treaters were cute too! Happy Halloween, Tamara! :)
@billyCtv No we don't really celebrate it here in Australia that is why I got such a shock when you had bacon on your ears in your last video (kidding) I loved your get up very fun. We had fun. My bird Spooky is pretty cute and talkative. Happy Halloween Billy!
My girl is Aussie and wanted to trick or treat a few years ago in 2006! I was 23 and she was 19 and everyone was looking at us like we were crazy being so old and trick or treating lol. Also you have to try pumkin pie! I know you guys don't have it there but its amazing.
@WillCTV I could only imagine how funny you guys would have looked trick or treating ha ha. When I looked in the girls trick or treat bags there were some odd items in there because we are not use to Halloween other houses they visited had thrown in fruit vegetables and other random stuff. Pumpkin pie sounds interesting next Halloween I will have to make it.
"I've been trying to celebrate Halloween all day here in Australia and it's actually been really really...............BORING"!!! ROFL I laughed out loud seriously that was funny hahahaha
You guys are so cute :) great decorations! I have an American friend in Australia and I am sure she is celebrating too! Don't burn the house down, that's no fun :) I love your bird, we had a few like it when I was growing up.
@HeyThatsHolly I am so clumsy ha ha lucky I just caught that candle before it fell over. I was so happy Tim participated in making this video. Yep we certainly gave Halloween a go. Our bird Spooky is very cute and very talkative you know what cockatiels are like as you had a few growing up. Happy Halloween Holly!
Happy Halloween! Here in the States, Mischief night is the scariest for the adults and the messiest! In my area, minors are not allowed to buy eggs at the grocery store til after mischief night ( Halloween Eve) and Halloween are over! egg is hard to wash off of cars!!!

It was cool you got one group of trick or treaters.
@Myk63 Aha I have just worked out that you guys call it a squash and we call it a pumpkin how funny is that : ) I had to work with what I had I could not find a whole pumpkin in our local shops. I was taking down some webs this morning and there were a couple of real little ones in the fake web eeek. : )
