  • @tchenku, tnx dude!

  • 422HP or 422BHP? im confused... my s14 is just 200+ hp fully tuned...

  • @armand0029 HP, BHP, same thing basically. you need to buy the Silvia K's (it comes with 210-220hp when you buy it). You probably bought the Silvia Q's

  • I know why drifting in GT3 was much easier then in GT4. If you use the left analog stick for steering try this. In GT3 (with any car) be in a stationary position, look behind (hold it) then steer left and right (all the way) quickly, you'll notice the wheels turning just as quickly as you turn the analog stick (instant response). If you try this in GT4 however, The steering will not respond as quickly. Why the developers changed this, I don't know why.

  • can i try with S15 or S13 ?

  • @Bimosaurs found it

  • c'mon buy gt5 the driving physics are like real live!!!!

i had gt4 and i was going crazy because i couldnt drift now with gt5 im untachable im in the drift team of os" ks sports :p

  • Good drifting man by the way anyone who wants to get cash just do Capri rally easy at the special condition hall and u will get a 260000 worth of cash just for selling the car . The car is a Toyota rally car try it

  • what about buying the items?? did you waste any money at all for the car or not?

  • @MrCaptainMuffins well yes.. you have to buy items. that's why the car has "422hp" and modified settings

  • @tchenku well...can you list the items you have to buy?? please??

  • @MrCaptainMuffins easiest way to put it: buy all the most expensive things for the car and you'll be able to change those settings. if you don't have the money, look up "easiest way to make money in GT4" on google

  • @tchenku what track did u use??

  • thank you for this setup

tried it once and i think i am able to learn to drift in GT4 with this setup

    cheers

  • i use RX-7 heavily modified equipped with nos it is much better with nos i can like drift on the tunnel in the clubman stage.

  • I use a nissan 300 zx 502 bhp to drift. works really nice to me

  • Does drifting in this game while racing cup makes me faster?

  • what i did was gat an mx-5, fully tuned, put a spoiler, max downforce, front/rear weight balance -50, tcs on 1 oversteer on 0 understeer on 10 brakes 1 on front, 5/6/7 on rear, soft sport tyres on front, hard on back, that's it. a pretty good little drifter i found

  • aren't raceing tires use for grip? try useing sports i think

  • just turn off the driving aids and you're ready to go +)

  • whats your gear ratio setup?

  • für die deutschen unter uns: bei einstellungen einfach mal die fahrhilfen ausmachen und härtere rennreifen druff ;)

  • hard

  • lol ITS KENTA AND HIS S14!!

  • and then i spin off

  • hey when i try the back comes out 2 much (i have a aston martin V8) how do i prevent this?

  • Nismo 270R,not 240R...sorry..

  • dude,tx a lot!! this really help...You can use Nismo 240R(black car) instead of buying another car...:-)

  • what track is this

  • ahm i cant find that car in using a nissan skyline gtr vspec2 00'

  • what do u do if u keep spinning out???

  • @samartz let off the gas while exiting the turn dude...hey do u play online?

  • @Grant1282

nah, if it was free, yes

btw, would putting the traction control up a bit help??

  • when i stab at the brakes it just spins out

  • that's the top of noob drifting without any angel

  • it seems to me that drifting with a wheel is infinitely easier. I'm using a logi driving force and it's awesome. leaps and bounds over controller.

  • OMG thats true drifting!!!well done tchenku!!!

  • i used to be able to drift all trqacks in GT3...got gt4 and couldnt. so i gave up.

just recently bought the old game back out to give it a go again... your setup doesnt work for me at all :( not only am i failing to hold the drift, but i find it hard to start it with this setup.

ah well. looks good anyways. good work :)

  • @boozobug try driving like you're grip racing. start braking later and be less smooth. the car should start sliding a bit eventually. after that, it's just a matter of learning to ride it out.

  • @tchenku ty, ill try that. am almo using a G27. from whatr ive read everyone drifts with the controller

  • @tchenku i just have no driving aids and i just chuck my car in and do a few steering ajudusments and its great

  • what are trquacks?

  • @boozobug yea i do so well in drifting in gt3 but gt4 was like a whole new ball game! and they even have cars from D1GP and i still cant drift them!

  • What is the ideal car for drifting?

  • cool now i could turn better (also)

  • @Jaycee991 Yep, that's what I was aiming for, really. Just stick some sticker tires on the rear and that's exactly how I run my grip setup.

  • @gutairplayer94 fuck ur a dickhead.

  • i use the m5, road tires, no adjustments learned how to drift with an m3 and i was just like :D

  • made me wonder if this applies in real life

  • @gutairplayer94 powersliding looks very different; this is drifting. I don't slide only japanese cars. If you looked before you opened your filthy mouth, you would have seen me sliding a chevelle in the another vid, "gutair" boy.

  • another setting that works for all cars is stock camber ,1 degree toe front and back, softest springs, lowest ride height, and slickest tires.

  • @speeddrift3 well sure, but I actually like some speed when I play, thus the racing tires ;)

  • i also drift with the joystick my drift car is mine's skyline r34 it's one of the d1gp cars

  • nice driving..check out my vids

  • i cant drift with the joysticks. not realistic. i use the gt force wheel.

  • @nsombi17 i use the controler and it works just fine for me

  • this would help so much on those Gay License tests since they always time u on the turns if the car could drift then it will save some time

  • @abb21a actually, drifting is seldom faster than taking the grip line the tests want you to take. You can use drifting all you want for the bronze medals, but for gold, you'd want almost all grip.

  • @tchenku I know this post is old but back when i used to play GT: Prologue it was just me and this other guy racing. He was in an NSX and drifting every corner. I'm a pretty good driver myself using the wheel and everything. I was keeping up with him but it amazed me that he could kick my ass doing that lol.

  • if you wanna drift better than that see my video or send me the car name that you want to send you the drift settings

  • on dirt or snow you can drift.i have gt4 well i geted 29000 points with....ummmm.......a yeah with nissan skyline gtr

  • wow i bet this fucker cant even drift the whole track ffs! LEARN TO DRIFT HOMO!

  • omg you are showing us how to be a drift noob. i think i have to make a video about drifting in gt4 to show all these drift noobs who think they are the drift king what drifting is about.

at first watch the videos from bimonTheDrifter. He is a good gt4 drifter with experience. Surely his drifts are better than these.

this video is quiet 4 years old. i hope tchenku is better now.

  • ive got a couple vids on my memory card that i wish i could upload. Ive got a supra around this track and a clio Sport around the entire complex string track. A word to the wise, the renault Clio Sport is a great car to learn in, not to fast, but light and easy to change direction.

  • nissan skyline r33 gtr with original setups is good drift car , believe it or not.only put it all power what can get = about 750 bhp

  • Can AT drift too?

  • hmmm you can but... manual transmission (MT) is one of the key things to drift. Its better to control the gears by the driver then the car itself

  • uau coool

  • what transmission ?

  • ok its just that none of my silvia's can go up to 422hp like urs can.

  • guys.....i could really use some help....could som1 tell me the set ups fot a certain car???? ty

  • umm.. I gave you all the specs for the Silvia (which works well for the S13 too) on the title screen.

check out GTPlanet forums for more.

  • @tchenku mine wont slide >.>

  • which type of sylvia is it K's or Q's

  • K's.

  • nice, but 4WD cars r better at drifting if u can set them up right, i use the Evo 8 MR in this game to drift

  • isso não pode ser chamado de Drift !

    ¬¬

    Cumulo

  • wow,very nice job man

  • function only with FR types car???

  • nice drifting. i wish someone would do a more detailed how-to drift series for GT5 that shows the general settings for drifting and explained how to do it cuz i just cant keep a good drift going, and i don't know how i should tune the suspension.

  • i use evo VIII for drifting

  • not worth nothing to the drift

  • This helps alot on psp. THX

  • i use the GT4 lm ed. 350Z to drift

i have a hard time maintaining a drift, and sometimes the ebrake doesnt work

    can anyone help?

  • i use the skiline gtr vspec 2 nur for drift

  • When i try drift i get it sideways and give gas but sometimes i'am to late and the RPM vont go up or if the RPM go up i just go around-.- sometimes i get some drift but i only get highspeed drift why not slow in 2 gear and 3? i nomally use 5 and 6 when i drift highspeed..-.-

  • i can only drift with the nissan 350z

  • I use the RX-7 and not the brake stab method I use the E-Brake hold and sideway scrabble method.

  • what parts did you put in the car?

    I can't get 422bhp,

  • i cannot find the silvia

  • used cars early 90's.

    Q's Aero (S14)

  • It's also called the 240sx

  • awesome, man! could you include some footage from inside the car? you know, the normal vision

  • Sadly you can't because it's Gran Turismo 4.

  • yeah, but i mean, looking from the front of the car, you know?

  • The vid is long gone. Why do you want to see from the inside? You can see all the gauges and meters on the screen already. I do drive/drift from first-person view, though. I used to do it from 3rd person on GT2, but GT4 was entirely different.

  • Well, i'm just trying to drift with the "on-car camera" and MAN, am i having a hard time!

    But thanks anyway ;)

  • Nice Driving dude

  • woot sounds cool, but im using F1 lol drift? tire BOOM!!

  • thanx for posting this. I have been a long time player of GT4 and I finally wanted to understand how to drift in the game. thanx a bunch man! goi to try it out now.

  • good jab

i made a Gran Turismo 4 Drift Tutorial in arcade mode

    watch?v=yjNXV8ZbFaQ

    visit it ^_^

  • drifting in GT4 sucks... In the 5 it's much easier! Handling and driving feel in GT4 generally sucks... Too bad really, because apart frome the painstakingly long endurance races, it's such an awesome game!

  • hahaha cool drift. i've never seen this before.

  • your drifting is so gay. pussy shit

  • omfg ty man it even work on the BLITZ SKILINE ty man :D

  • nice car i like the sound of that engine

  • Somehow I got a Chrysler 300C to do the same...

  • dude stfu just tell us what button to press like handbrake or something u dont have to go like real life like make the car go smoothly or something

  • watch the the gas/brake/steering guages... that's why I included them in my replay display.

  • Ending was kinda fail haha, it would have been cool if he drifted that

  • i meant to stop in the road with a quick 180.. which sorta worked :P not trying to drift the huge corner, ha

  • oh.....but i will admit, you got some sick skills!

  • Jesus ppl who cares if u can do better hes trying to help ppl out, theres no need for petty crap.

  • i can do better than this .... IN ARCADE ... with sport tires

  • Excuse me, I've had a problem with a race, I have 59% of my gt4 but in the Type R meeting at honda I race with an NSX t R concept and when I finish a race, the screen takes loading all nite long, the little timer turns red and have to reset the console to play again, could somebody tell me what happen??

  • @ Tw1nbo:

i can do it better. sorry but don't talk shit

  • take the toyota supra RZ

800 hp or some like that and infenion raceway

    this way better for driftin'

  • name the car please!!!!

  • bad drifting. i can do it better

  • can i dooo this in d pad?

  • ahahahah ... and you can do it a lot better too though ...

  • damn dude u know how to get sideways, beautiful job.

  • approach the corner at about 10 or 20 mph to fast to go around the corner, before the corner, turn the wrong way briefly, then push the brake, turn the right way, and put full throttle for about 1 or 2 seconds, let go of the throttle, catch the drift, then balance the throttle with the opposite lock, to end the drift and straighten out the car, just put in a lot of opposite lock briefly.

  • ok, say its a little less then a 90 degree turn. to do a successful drift:(on next comment)

  • whats the best car and the best track for drifting on gt4? and can you send me the settings for this car.

  • wahts the track

  • whats a good car to drift

  • not so easy with my silvia

  • 240sx is really good.

  • How do you get your replays from the memory card to the computer?

  • i think its pretty easy if u put tracion control off

  • Easiest way is to change rear tyres to economy ones

  • That's because these "uber realistic physics" suck balls.

  • man, i needa sterring wheel and accelerator peddles and i swear i could pull off some pretty realistic ones haha

try a rx7 with full mods stiff suspension and sports hard tyres

  • did you custome made the car?

  • im trying to do it in a 300zx z31

  • nissan skyline is the easiest. jus take off oversteer prevention an tfs or wateva keeps the wheels from spinnin :D

  • im teaching myself how to drift with the

    BP Falken RX-7 (D1GP) '03

  • @ nixxxon18

drifting works just as well as driving with your grip,

if your a good drifter you just have some more fun and look cooler

  • No, at least not on high speed cars.

I think Gran Turismo is a serious simulator, if you wanna drift get the arcade game called NFS

  • i got NFSU2, i like that too

and yea the top end car's weren't made to slide, i wouldn't try sliding those million dollar race made cars, it's certainly just as, if not faster to slide a normal street car around...

  • who cares about drifting anyway, it makes the car go slower than on regular driving

  • Not if you are going downhill.

  • sick, i have that car with the same setup. It works great for me.

  • I did well with my r32 v spec II wasy too drift after you change the tires to super hard or hard

  • I try to drift using a BMW M5...It started great but later when i want countersteer the car,for example I'm drifting to the right, then try to recorrect the steering to the left and the car threw away to the left...any idea on how to???

  • yeah that happens to me to, i think its cause we don't use enough throttle

  • I don't think that we have to floor it to the end....just half but then i will lose the power...so I try to use full throttle then i'll spin the car...this is seriously hard!!!!

  • yeah i really don't know i guess its just practice...

  • Yeah...Just need to practice more...

    Good luck with yours...

  • you to, im playin it right now ;)

  • Great!!

  • the first drift is shit. the second is quiet nice. the last drifts look unreal because you drift with a gamepad. with a steering wheel it looks better

  • do i need i steering weel to drift? help?

  • not at all i use a controller but use the stick not the d-pad

  • just for talking your crap I put up two videos of me drifting the s2000. talk your shit now bitch

  • whats the best car to drift with?

i drift ok with my skyline its suped up all the way all i do is go low 2nd gear and as i upproach the turn i turn slight right then sharp left and step on the throttle and i get a small drift nothing long like urs

  • sorry dude, but your drifting straight up sucks. bad angle, bad drift line, and not in complete control. every time you try to do the faint move it looks so retarded. I'm way better then you! if you wanna know whats good then just ask me

  • wow..nice skills =D..i cant drift like u in gt4 lol..

  • reverence I am around Polish I have the question how you recorded this film great quality plaese for the reply ;];];]

  • if you want an easy drift or power slide etc.. just max the damper angle of the rear wheels and stiffen the springs (max)

use super hard race tires and just drive like you normaly do at coners the car will slip a little you just have to balance it it becomes a natural drift car no need for eny kind of technique . great drifts by the way

  • This is a good one! I'll try out. i'm not bad in drift, but I'm not as good as you.

  • kk i like the vid but i think it is alittle chineseish

  • what the hell do you mean by that

  • i was wondering about the tranmission do i leave it at 12 or set it all the way up to 25 its max.

  • dude i serously think that 4w drive for drifting is better than reel wheel drivebecause in r wheel u have to get like attention to every mood and there is no room for mistakes[if u do oh well spinout] while in 4 w drive u have more grip and the traditional e brake works real good and i feel there is more room for mistakes. thats wat i think.

  • what i am saying is that the traditional e-brake/ clutch kick, or even engine braking (locking up wheels) allows the car to slide earlier, resulting in a more complete drift. brake drifting tends to initiate the slide just before entering the corner.

    perfect example: 1:59->2:07 (watch?v=Sp1YrGnTlOc)

one of the best drift compilations i have ever seen.

  • good slides, but it's no drift. you didn't use the clutch or the handbrake to initiate the drift and you weren't sliding before the turn, making it a powerslide.

good lines and speed though. and nice car :)

  • wow, so using brakes to offset car balance and initiate a slide doesn't count as drifting? you know clutch-kicking and handbraking are actually considered lesser techniques than braking, right?

and yes, I was sliding before the apex in every single turn. It's not going to look like your economy tire drift vids (compare speeds if you want to), but it's drifting nonetheless.

  • clutch-kicking and the use of handbrake are considered lesser techniques? damn, your more ignorant than i thought.

and you're not sliding before the apexs, lmao. all four of your wheel are parralell @ 0:25 (apex 1) and @ 0:32 (apex 3), again all your wheels are parralell.

you're not initiating a drift as your car is straight at at 2 of the 3 apexes. you are meerly slowing your car into a powerslide.

  • yes, clutch-kicking and handbraking are considered more beginner-type techniques, whether or not pros use them. imagine a guy doing a whole course kicking and e-braking, then the next guy in the same car does the whole thing with just the gas and brake. beginner vs pro.

wheels parallel? ever heard of a 4-wheel drift? you don't need opposite lock to be drifting. and GT4 does not imitate life as well as you may think. turn on your GT4 and try to drift with opposite lock on race tires.

  • making drifitng more difficult for yourself doesn't enhance your drift in ANY way, just makes you feel that little bit better if you can pull it off.

drifitng is all about aesthetics. if you can drift through apex to apex it doesn't matter how you do it. look at drift competitions, do you see drivers getting more or less points for braking/ e-braking? no it's about angle, speed, and your line.

  • and if you can keep up all those angles, speeds, and lines with ONLY the footbrake and gas, you be a much better driver than the clutch-kicking e-braker, huh? Yep. But either way, I never bothered to learn clutch kicking in GT4 and I only use the e-brake to extend drifts, rarely to initiate them. I don't play GT4 to drift like D1; I merely enjoy a bit of oversteer to get around the track.

  • do you even own a car or tried drifting? i don't think so some how. you'll be suprised how hard it is to drive a REAL car momentarily @ 80~ MPH with only your front two wheels spinning, or the skill involved in timing the clutch kick and just how fast/ how much clutch you need.

but ye, using the brake pedal to drive is actually really difficult. if using the brake to drift was effective/ then you'd actually see people using it. so i ask you to watch some drift videos before claiming to drift

  • Yes I own a modestly powerful 240sx, which you'll see in my video collection.

I never said drifting was easy, no matter what techniques you like to use.

Drifters clutch-kick and handbrake because the rules encourage huge drift angles and duration and because the courses can get pretty tight. Brake drifting through those sections is just not possible without a horribly off-balanced car.
