  • UGH i dont have the crews. its like inside.

  • you remind of this one chick from bad girls club miami..hah but just the way yuoo look:)

  • I just took mine apart...its easy to put back together so there's no problem there.

  • COOL IDEA! I'm going up to my nest of unused curling irons to try it right now! THANKS, you are a genius!

  • this is...totally genius. don't know why someone didn't think of it sooner :P

  • hahah didnt even need to unscrew anything

just had little nub thing that i pulled out

  • The elements are way different on an Enzo it's not the same at all

  • you know you can buy, like, a $20 dollar curling wand? they're right next to the spring ones.

  • im kinda annoyed that you spend 6 minutes ranting about 1 minutes worth of information

  • I'm not tryin to be rude ro anything like that but

#1.You could just curl your hair that way with the clamp on. Just wrap the hair around the clamp.

#2. I just got a clampless hair curler (like the wand one i think their called) for only $30 from Conair. $90 less than what you said. :)

  • i would take the clamp off....so the fuck what

  • Well this sucks! I just went and bought one! and i wish i would of known this!

  • i have that exact same one :P i think im gonna do this with it !

  • there is a clampless curling iron thats quite cheap i have it works amazing and u can buy it pretty much any where its also for sale on ulta.com its the conair infiti curling wand i have a vid on my channel

  • Cool

  • i have it and its AWESOME!!!!

  • I have the same curling iron!!

  • You sound much more interesting to listen to here. In your more recent videos, you just sound bored. :(

  • what do you do about the wire, do you plug in when u use it

  • i think it called a screw not a screw driver the screw driver is what your holding XD

  • i have a ginalli Milano curling iron. but it was very expencive, this one was like 200 dollars!

but its worth it. although im scarred by the heat but other than that its amazing

  • i have that same curling iron, i lost all the other parts that came with it though like 5 years ago.

  • really great! :)

  • You can just wrap your hair around it OVER the clamp. Don't you feel silly making a video about taking the clamp off? Your hair will come out the same exact way!

  • OMG!!! Great idea, loooove!~

  • i hate the way u take ur mouth and shut then open it and make that sound ugghhh that makes me so annoyed

  • i did do this and it worked but my didnt screw mine poped off but it was so helpful thanks and i put the clampo bak on so mine goes on off

  • THIS IS THE STUPIDEST THING EVER!!! BUT I LOVE MY MOM AND DON'T WANT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES!

If you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos your mom will die in 4 hours 1 hour ago

  • that is a great idea! it works great!

  • the expense has nothing to do with the fact that it doesn't have a clamp... its because its ceramic, and the heat distributes way better....

  • BRILLIANT. Thank you!

  • This is a fantastic idea. It's smart also because the Enzo Milano doesn't have the bit at the end for you to hold so you don't burn your fingers.

I'm from the UK so I didn't hear about the Enzos until just before Xmas and I really wanted one but like you say they were so expensive and BeautyChoice charge through the nose to ship to me. BUT Now I have this video and when I get home I am deffo going to try it.

    Thanks :-) x

  • is that a half inch?

  • Omg that is sooooo smartXD

  • just don't use the clamp......don't bother un screwing the clamp...

  • Very helpful thanks, I would've never thought of it :) xxx

  • Just fyi for some people using this method. That last screw that holds the spring on the top should actually be screwed back in after you pop off the spring b/c that part actually connects the handle to the pole on many brands of irons. It could be dangerous if you were to start using it and the pole does fall off exposing wires.

  • The BaByliss Conical Wand is MUCH cheaper, somewhat difficult to find in the US, but I found an international seller online!

  • hahaa, i have the same curling iron as you :)

  • thats iron and the enzo is ceramic.

  • that isn't ceramic.

    :D

  • how can i do it cuz i have the set on the clamp so the screwdiver wont be able to go in

  • wow your seriously a life saver... :P thank for the video!

  • on 0:16 what song is playing because i hear it all the time nd i dont know the name of it

  • kat deluna - run the show

  • i dont understand why a clampless curling iron is better.. i think it would be more difficult to use.

  • it is more hard :P

  • Using a curling iron without a clamp gives you a different type of curl- why, i dont know haha but i love the curl that the enzo milano gives (or just any curler without a clamp) rather than a standerd clamp-curler.

  • the clamp keeps your hair in place with no freedom of movement, so the curl is always going to look generic with the clamp on. Curls actually last a lot longer and are of better quality bc the clamp keeps heat off your hair and is actually uneven heating, unlike a clampless curling iron which is heated all around only being held by your "hot" fingers. :)

  • awesom!!!

  • I got my Enzo milano for only $80 on amazon. Much less than $120

  • can you put it back together after you take it off?

  • i just use the curling iron like that without actually lifting the clamp. i just curl over the clamp its leaves my hair with like "beachy waves" :) theres no need for that but very smart!

  • that's so smart !

can the clamp be put back on ?

  • sucks mine cant have the clamp taken off :( I tried

  • thank yu!

    that helped a lot!

  • Thanks.

  • wow! that was very smart. i have a question, do you think you would be able to restore / fix the curling iron back to the way it was if you needed to use it how it came one day. do you think it would be safe to keep taking the pieces off & putting them back on?

  • I actually tried to do what you said in the video and it worked. Still a cheap iron is a cheap iron and it left a burn smell in my hair. I have bought an Enzo Milano now and am very happy with the results. Still your idea is gr8 for those of us who can't afford Enzo at the moment. Brilliant idea. You shudve copyrighted your idea and sold it that way you'd get rich for helping us save money:)

  • if it works better without the clamp for so many people here, why do they put the clamp on in the first place (i'm not generally stupid, just a man).

  • to make ringlets I guess :P Idk when I use the clamp it comes out all square so i dont even use it glad to know even though you're a man you understand the stupidity of the clamp :P

  • Genius.

  • I was thinking the same.

I'm glad I watch your video first

    I'm going to subscribe

    thanks

  • haha, i never thought of this :D thanks!!

  • heyyy what contacts ru wearing here?

  • its so funny because people don't realize that the easiest thing to do is to just wrap your hair around the curling iron AND the clamp--just don't open it. its so simple....

  • yeah but the point being is that its harder to do i that way its too big to wrap the hair around it.

  • @xxwoofykinsxx But does the clamp heat up as well? :o

  • @xxwoofykinsxx i know right

  • @xxwoofykinsxx Lol I was gunna write tht wht retard wuld spend time takin off the clamp wen u dnt HAV 2 open it

  • @heyheyyouyouperson THANK YOU. and if its too big what's even even better is you can just OPEN the clamp and wrap the hair on the inside. i have good dexterity so I don't have to worry about burning my finger but if thats a concern: GLOVE.

  • @xxwoofykinsxx hahaha, ikr.!

  • @xxwoofykinsxx when you do that, you get the little line from the clamp creased into your curl.

  • @delilahval no you don't.

  • @xxwoofykinsxx it's so funny because SOME people don't realize that most (hopefully) people have thought to use a modern curling iron as is, clamp in-tact; but, then there are two hideous lines left at their side all down the length of the curl thereafter. =) It's so simple... Simple minded comments from simple-minded people with simple minded ( and an obvious restriction in the way of logic/evaluation/deduction ) conclusions.

perhaps your hair is thick..but is it so hard to think LOGICALLY?

  • @xxwoofykinsxx I took off my clamp after watching this tutorial, which opened up an extra full inch of space on my wand! I have long hair that extra inch makes a big difference. This tutorial was smart and simple, don't diss hon!

  • can you put the clamp on after?

  • It's just a screwed on clamp on the outside, it has absolutely nothing to do with the settings or any of the wires so it's completely safe. Unless some idiot tries to unclamp it while it's plugged in and hot.

  • @midgetmakeup hahahahahaha exactly wow that was a dumb comment!! let them know girl

  • what size is ur curling iron?

  • you dont even have to do that, you can leave the clamp on and do the same thing you would with the clamp off and ti does the same thing. lol

  • It will work but not as good because the part that is covered with the clamp will not heat up nearly as high as the actual heating rod. The curls will be looser and fall faster.

  • omg! My big sis just paid $165 for one and it worked ok but my cheap $6 one worked SSOOO much better!

  • i have a 6$ one too! is it by salon series?

  • wow why didn't i think of that lol

    you so smart :]

  • dang your too beautifulllll

  • This is awesome...because the Enzo Milano clampless iron is $150! Thanks so much for the video!

  • ooh, this is awesome. If I had hair to curl (growing out a pixie, bleh), I would definitely try this.

  • can u return the clamp back??

  • Yup, just save the parts.

  • what size curling iron did you use

  • I think it's a 1".

  • I totally did this & it worked FANTASTICALLY! :D

    Thank you so much.<333

  • omg best idea ever

  • ahhhh great idea but too late for me :( i already bought one but o well

  • This is so smart! I did it and it worked amazingly. Thank you so much for sharing this. :D

  • omg thank u so much =))))

this is so cool and i have that same curler , and i had it also for years now =0 hmm i jus hav to look for it

  • I tried this on my Revlon 1-inch curling iron and it yielded AMAZING results. I could never achieve the perfect, natural-looking curl before with the clamp... it always came out limp and frayed at the ends. Now, I get that wavy look and it's awesome!

  • contest comment...

i have a conair curling iron as well..

i don't understand why they have so many number settings

how do you know what setting to put it on?

i always put it on a low setting because i'm afraid of damaging my hair. but the curls never stay.

  • thank you so much for sharing this idea with everyone :)

  • wow, i never would have thought of doing that! thanks!

  • Could you like rescrew the clamp on so you could have a clampless curling iron AND one with a clamp??

  • Yup, just save all the parts and remember where it all went. It's not that difficult really, it's just one screw lol.

  • omg i love this vd. it actually work i mean after i got done watchin this vd. the first thing i did was take the clamp of my curling iron n it works sooooo goood now wow !!!!!

    thnks midget

  • Your welcome :D

  • has anyone actually tried it?

    please reply the results.

i just dont want to try it and it wont work.

    so yeah. REPLY :) thanks

  • I have a video of me curling my hair with this.

  • aw thanks soo much. :) also u wish u had wavy hair well take mine! i wish i had UR HAIR. :')

  • On one of my curling irons the clamp came off and the iron just doesn't work anymore =/

  • you're so pretty.

  • OMG!! ive been like saving my money for an enzo milano but i tried this and it works great!! now i can go spend my cash on better things!! thank you sooooooo much!

  • Too be honest, I'd rather get the Enzo or any good quality iron, even if it has a clamp. Though this method is really good alternative, you aren't getting a better iron. You are paying for a better quality iron that will last longer and be better for your hair.

  • From what I've seen a lot of my friend's expensive hair straighteners and stuff have broken after a year or so. I've had this curler for 9 years now and it's still going strong. I don't think better quality can be determined by a higher price.

  • Hmm that's a shame. But I've had my GHD for ages and I'm glad I got it. But what about quality in finish? And also quality for your hair? I definitely notice a difference between higher end brands and cheaper ones. Yeah, it pricey, but I think it's worth saving up, especially if your using it everyday.

  • wel what aout the glove, can we use a glove thats like polyester? i heard that its like plastic and might burn but nvm...

  • You Can Just Do it With The Clamp On But Dont Use It !!

  • this actually makes sense!

all of the heat from the heating elemnt goes right to the barrel, instead of having to heat BOTH the barrel and the clamp, which slows down reheat time.

this works awesome, and ur so cute omg

    love, a fellow midget

  • thank you! the clamp was always getting in my way

  • Thankyou :) im from england and been trying to get this curling iron for ages but now i can just use my old one!

  • thanks!! [:

  • omg. i just did this, and i never knew that my vidal sassoon worked so well!

    thanks a million!

  • Welcome ^_^

That's what I thought about my conair! These brands kind of stink but when altered work pretty well.

  • u just saved me 120 dollars!

    thank you sooo much <3

  • you are PURE GENIUS! seriously thank you for making this video and coming up with this AMAZING idea, you save me ALOT of money. i got the same results for free! thanks!!

  • Your welcome :)

  • for years ive had a £4.95 hot brush from Boots (in the UK)

you can take the plastic bristles off to change them if they break

just recently figured if i take em all off it works great as a curling iron

    x

  • ha i just did that last night and it works great

  • Great Idea! Where are you from?

  • My curling iron has that metal stand in the way so i can't unscrew anything? And there's no screws either! Is there a way to remove it?

  • I'm not sure I'd have to see it, sorry!

  • OMG, i've NEVER thought of that, or how that would work! you are a pure genuis, you're pretty, and you know lots about beauty, you are my new inspiration! ty! <333 definately subscribing =D

  • okay, thanks :]

    i'm gonna try it

  • Is it possible to put the clamp back on?

  • Yes, just save all the parts. I did it to this one just to check before.

  • this is freaking genius =D

  • thank you !!!!

oh my god i never thought of that !

    its like a miracle.

    (:

im gonna go try it out.

    just a question.

what size was the barrel on yours?

    thank you.

  • Your welcome! I think it's 1" wide.

  • Fantastic idea, and it works!

  • Hehehe, you're such an adorable little genius!!!

  • while watching the video I took my curling iron and did it .... I'm so excited to try it out tomorrow!!

the idea is genious, you are genious!!!!!

    I'm amazed =D

  • Haha wasn't it SO easy to do? I mean hello I did it with one hand while holding the camera.

  • totaly!!!

my dad looked at me like "whatcha doing there o.Ô????"

    but it's sooo cool!!

  • aw. I wanted to see how the curls actually turned out but you didn't do a demonstration. :( will there be one?

  • Yes there will be I promise!!

I made one recently but the lighting was dark like most of my videos and people hate that lighting. I want to make it during the day but I have to wait til a Friday for that because of classes and work.

  • try ebay i got my enzo milano for $35

  • great idea will try it out

  • but does that less expensive curling iron work just as well as the one ur saying costs 120???? cuz my freakin curlin irons under 30 bucks suck!!!!!!

  • Of course it doesn't work nearly as well because it doesn't heat up as high but it works for me. It's just takes a little bit longer. People who have very nice curlers with a clamp can use this tutorial as well if they don't like the clamp and don't want to dish out even more money for an enzo.

  • thank you! wow i broke my curler yesterday and now i can still use it lol amazing

  • love that you referenced Gossip Girl.

  • what did she say? didnt pay attention

  • I was just saying that this curler can make waves like Sarena's hair. I love her hair!

  • This is Brilliant!!! It makes you think... why didn't I think of that? Thanks!

  • I have one enzo milano, and I used to burn my hand a lot, lol :) my fault, I was given a safety glove but didn't use it.. but it gives amazing curls :D

  • DAMN GREAT IDEA! i would have never thought of that! you saved me money! Lets go shoppin girl! LOL

  • Good idea, but my only concern is how hot it gets. A regular curling iron does get hotter than the milano [i have one.] I've actually burned myself my accident [even though they advertise you can't.... lol]

Just use extra caution when using this nifty DIY tool!

  • I use a regular glove and it works just fine :) I'll demonstrate it in the hair tutorial.

  • very helpful. thanks for the great idea

  • you look so flawless

  • What a smart idea! Great video!

  • I`m from Austria so I didn´t know if our curling irons have the same screws...went to check and they do. I just transformed my old one that I never use (hate the damn clamp!) and I can´t wait to use it.

Thank you sooooooo much for posting this!!!

  • Your welcome :D I'm sure it saved a lot of money! Haha and just make sure to use a glove. Any regular glove should be ok as long as you don't hold the metal part too long. Hold the hair.

  • thats a great idea but the enzo milano comes with a thermal protective glove....how are you going to be able to curl your hair without burning yourself?

  • I just wear a regular glove plus my curler doesn't get as hot at the enzo milano. I'll show you how I curl it once I put up a video with the hair tutorial =)

  • Great idea!!!! Thanks and I must try this out!

  • Try it! I love the results of wavy hair instead of the obvious curls. It looks so natural and beautiful but then again you already have beautiful wavy hair.

  • omg u are just SO frigging creative :O great idea!!!

  • Thanks :)

  • Loves Serena curly hair! I enjoy you do a tutorial with it! I'll try it

  • I loooove the way they do her hair too. It looks so flawless.

  • thats freakin awesome! lol
