  • Bravo! well played, wouldn't it be funny if it was the soloists kid?

  • 1:16 I agree.

  • Get that worthless BRAT out of the audience. Believe me, NOBODY on earth thinks that brat is as adorable as you think he is...I cannot imagine a ruder way to treat the other audience members, or the performers.

  • Bravo!

  • viva la musica classica ... saluti da firenze !

  • That baby needs to SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!

But other than that, it was a beautifull piece with a talented Bassoonist. :)

  • Ugh i cant wait until i buy a bassoon of my very own. I use the one my school gave me and it has keys that are stuck -__-

  • Is it just me or did it slow down after the first few bars?

  • bravi !

  • 7 personas son del recinto de Mayagüez.

  • Im working on this piece Atm, its not easy at all. Its for my Solo Ensamble. :D

  • Hi, this is very nice and I like the tune of this, I will try it on my flute, its should take a while as I will learn by myself :o)

  • Anyone know what the KV No. is for this?

  • @brainykid800

    Many thanks :o)

  • @TheGodlessGuitarist that's a GREAT handle/screen name, godless! :)

  • @bckm54

    hehe :D

  • fucking kid in the background

  • So nice, the bassoonist. Sound wonderful

  • wow

  • Bravo Saxton!

  • I chose this to be a solo of mine! :D You're Excellent!!!!!!! :D

  • Muy bueno, y un sonido escelente enhorabuena..

  • cool presentation, looks like your playing an electric guitar ! great performance !

  • absolutelly brilliant !!!!!

  • So wonderfull understanding about mozart. excelent performance.. congratulations..

  • i have to do this so i can get into the high school band... ugh, it's a pain in the neck, especially when it's on euphonium.

  • Beatiful!!!!! I played like that when I was 11 years old. I was the only girl in art school that played that instrument. is so big no one would want to take the lessons but me. lol it was great time i wish i could go back to it.

  • @gnrfreak808 good luck!!

  • This is my solo this year.... I'm nervous! But this makes me wanna be like him!!!! :D

  • muito bom gostei!!

    voçe toca muito....

  • Great performance, no doubt about it..Even my pet African Gray parrot "Max" is bobbing & singing right along. I think it's his favorite Mozart concerto !! ..

  • the bassoon solo's is amazing!! lol really it isnt that hard to do because hes playing the 16th or 32nd notes r being played sticato which i try to do and its a little hard to do lol but i want to be able to play like that now it seems so cool to do lol

  • Wow, I don't think I'll ever be able to play as magnificently as that, but at least I have something to strive for! xD That was beautiful...and I agree with Hypermnestre wholeheartedly! ^_^

  • Le falta aprender más de Klauss Thunemann!!!!!!

    pero tiene futuro

  • there always seems to be that one baby crying in the back or that one guy who sneezes or coughs during a major rest in every concert, isnt there? haha. very good! i love mozart!

  • That was absolutely amazing. I am trying to learn this piece and I am just amazed at how beautiful this piece is when a professional plays it. Bravo!

  • Superb! Outstanding! Magnifico!

To hell with all of that, Saxton Rose KICKS ASS!!!

  • 1:20 that child must be silenced.

  • looks like the conductor is standing on a bale of hay =)

    oh yeah, great performance too!

  • i was about to give you 4 stars for your cadenza cause I wanted to hear more minor and stuff, but man you totally blew me away the last 15 seconds of your cadenza!!! 5 stars bro.

  • god kill that fucking baby in the beginning

  • Mummy and daddy are too busy showing off their little darling at its first classical concert to care something as insignificant as the performer, or fellow audience members. Until they can behave and shut up, children have no business being at a concert.

  • lol same with church and etc...

  • I wish it was just me being pedantic, but have had plenty of bad experiences with children ruining concerts. It's not the children's fault of course, the parents shouldn't be bringing them until they're old enough to appreciate the music (both the children and the parents...).

  • Hypermnestre, I couldn't agree more. You're not being pedantic, you're just not in the mood to be a free babysitter... :)

  • @Hypermnestre ^ Screw you.

  • @Hypermnestre

    Ouch!!!!

  • i think i'm gonna buy my reeds from this guy

  • This is the symphony orch. of my country, bravo to them.

  • Dude...You sound fabulous!

  • Never heard this on a classical station. They seem to hide ALOT of the good stuff! Is there a great Mozart Bassoon album out there/? I have to have this!!!

  • i've heard it on WCRB in Boston and they have a network of affiliates (robostations). I think this is his only bassoon concerto and it should be easy to find a performance on Amazon or whatever.

  • Awesome.

  • check out Vivaldi concerto for Bassoon in E minor 484

  • Hey! You're teaching at the NC school of the arts now right? I saw you and Mr. Begelman perform at the woodwind faculty concerto. Great job!!!!! I'm going to be applying to come to the school of the arts next year. Great rendition of the concerto by the way. (nice cadenza)

  • where's the bassoonists music?

  • his head

  • holy shizz :)

  • Its not uncommon for a soloist of this magnitude to memorize the music. Its more proffesional.

  • It shows that you know the music.

  • Haha indeed. So many running notes... i'll have to conquer my fear of them if I want to play this!

  • i saw a huge rest in middle of cadenza...that was quite interesting

  • muy lindo!

    de donde es el fagotista?

    estupenda version!

  • 啥也不说了.牛B

  • wow! this is really good. im am plaing this on euphonium and i can tell this will be a very hard feat to overcome if i play it correctly

  • dude you are beast at tonguing, is that double tonguing i hear?

  • i once tried to emmulate this sound on my bass clarinet and it sounded very robust. Great work saxton.I love the cadenza although its not entrely yours you seem to be a very original bassoonist. ill see you one day in berliner phil harmonik

  • Excellent!

  • perfect great tone¡¡

  • great play! I like how this sound so cherful. The staccatto is almost overdone, but I can definitely see the meaning of making it "short". Some parts I would have played differently, but overall I like this. A youtube favorite

  • ;_; so beatutiful!

I want this sound xD on my bassoon

@-@ someday I'll play like you

  • Great job Saxton... I am proud to have played near your chair in Italy, many many years ago!!!

  • the children in the audience dont seem to enjoy it much though:))

  • this is really good

    and he is so cute

  • So good. I'm playing this for my solo.

  • Really nice! Warm and beautifully played. You guys should let us know about these concerts which are not part of the regular season. This seems to have been a real treat!

  • Very nice and warm tone!

  • absolutely beautiful!!

  • Beautiful job Saxton.

  • Which cadenza is? Who is compositor? Saxton Rose?

    Sound is very warm.

  • The cadenza is similar to one played by milan turkovic, but I dont think its the same.

  • The very end of the candenza is gratefully "borrowed" from Turkovic. The rest is original. Thanks for your comment.

  • Thanks YTM021807,

Francisco Caban, director. The concert was at the newly renovated theater at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. April 30, 2007.

  • Is that your kid yelling? LOL

  • Good! Sounds very good!

    Which hall?

    Name of Conductor?

    Date?
