I absolutely love the video, and this showed me that I like Edie Brickell.

I actually saw this video several years ago in the early 1990s on a show called "Image Union" on WTTW Channel 11, Chicago. I feel like I remember there being a little more to the video, like after the "flying through the backyard" part, I thought the dog came back and sat with its halo, watching the audience, while a voice said what a Ghost of a Dog was. I'm probably remembering it wrong, but was there more?

The song is a metaphor though. It's not really about a dog.

It's about feelings thought to be long dead and buried coming back.
