card warp wasnt eugene's effect in the first place ,, however his persona and his presentation made it renowned as his,, whilst the handling here is good, i cannot help but feel that is being presented merely as a trick here,, perhaps that is your intent ,, but does it not detract from that which magic can be ?
Thanks for your comment, I think most magicians should think about that.
I know Eugene didn't invent it, however he taught me his mechanics back in the 1990's.
I think the problem here is that I perform it very bad. Simple as that. Technically sound but with no patter, no structure, no why and when. These are things I try to push on everyone else, to their own limits and was therefore hoping on constructive critique back on my performances.
Your technical performance isn't at all bad. I actually sought permission from the owners of the effect, (Davenports) to sell a version at The Village Wizard. They were very kind and blessed it if the inventor (Roy Walton) was ok with it. Roy responded, in an ever so polite British way, that he wasn't. :-( Anyway, my favorite version of this effect is Mike Close's Dr. Strangetrick. It might inspire you. I use it in my wallet routine that features time travel and origami themed effects.
If Eugene Burger tought you this you have missed the whole of his thought. Its not about the cards doing this or that...its the story, the mood, the emotion, and the fealing you leave the viewer with.score..hands 90 heart zero. Tevis wernicoff
You are somewhat right there. Eugenes contribution to this is in the performance. But what I meant is that it is using the method he taught me. Copying his performance would be silly.

Blue Tally-Ho circle back.
My personal favourite is the red Tally-Ho fanback, although the majority of the decks I buy are Bicycle and variants.

HA ha ok ok. I actually have a few but it was just me and a friend screwing around after school.
Do a search for "Magic kid tours winslow"
that would be me. My friend put that up under his account *BEcause i didnt have one at the time*
If you go to his videos there is another one of me doing a classic and powerful effect =P
Cheers!

Warp One by David Ren Jenkins.

Eugene had a bizarre twist (no pun intended) to the trick - adding a crushing sound effect when the card supposedly warped.
