defo a golden hour of the day in the summer which starts at around 6:30 pm sunset otherwise the sun is too bright to use flash and you'll have problems shooting ..... unless you have pocket wizards but then they arnt powerful enough to over the sun at its peak so the golden hour starts around half six
Great shots! I love all of them. Question... where exactly did you position the soft box for the red garage shot? (you mentioned which way you would face it but not where you positioned it) Cheers :)
You guys are awesome!!! im watching this backwards for some reason 6-1 LOL Im new to lighting ... Im confused how to get the correct exposure with multiple flashes.. As in Flash compensation relative to aperture.. etc lol i hope that mad sense.. Will check out the site for sure thanks for the videos!! :)
Gnarly stuff dudes ! Love the shot using the red gel on that garage door. matching the hue of the door was brillant and really made the picture pop. ! I have a problem I hope you can help solve. I got some awsome graffiti ( artsy stuff ) but they use reflective paint Its located inside a parking garage with light coming in 180 deg apart. I need stobes due to the low light but the paint creates intense reflections . I do shoot flash off camera. Any suggestions? AND THANKS !~
Michael and Andy I find myself wanting to be your biggest hater... But Find myself being your biggest fan! lmao how's that work.....Great video guys very informative for a newb like me....thanks
Just found your channel today and have been going through the vids. Thanks for posting, you guys are helping me to bring back more fun to shooting.
One request I have is if when doing your shoots, can you quickly reference your settings - shutter speed, ISO, aperture, flash outputs? I have been shooting iTTL with my D300 but as mentioned in your video, there's a lack of consistency, so I'd like to start playing around with manual more.

Is that a 17-55 or 24-70 F2.8 lens? Because I just bought an 17-55 F2.8 for my D300. Anyways, I just found your videos today and they are awesome!
