  • You are US!! We are 6800 Air Canada Flight Attendants fight ing this same injustice. Our Government has just stopped us from striking after a 98% strike vote because our executives and our union are in bed with our Governmnet! we have been scared into not being able to speak publicly about this with the threat of being fired if we do so! Watching this video I thank you and salute you for being able to speak publicly and i will be sharing this video with all my fellow Flight Attendants!

  • If you are unhappy working for American Airlines. It would be best for you and your fellow co-workers to start looking for new jobs elsewhere. My suggestion, do it on your time off and once you find something that you like just give them your two weeks notice. By doing that you will leave on good terms for a better opportunity. Also, American executives will suffer because they don't understand how to treat their employees well. Good employees who are mistreated will leave.

  • I agree completely. All 3 unions have been in negotiations since 2008. Bring Crandall back, if he can't fix AA no one can

  • One thing is for sure, the executives of AA sure as hell don`t fly with their own airline.

    The stuff their pockets full of bonus money and head of in their private jets planning their next move to screw their employees and customers of even more money and bring their already beyond lousy customer service to new low levels.

  • Their are still some good airlines in the North America that takes care of their employees and customers like Southwest. AA has gone down the drain in at every aspect from customer service, delays, safety (check out AA safety record during the years), i rather take bus or train rather than to fly with AA again.

  • people will never truly realise how much cabin crew do! I completely agree with what you are all saying- you spend all that time with passengers, you work that 12 hour flight and you deliver the service which people pay for yet CEOs and managers seem to think that they are the ones doing the work. I completely support you- my Mum is on the same boat with BA wanting to cut pay to absolute minimum etc. People think you are trolley dollys- you are not!! Good luck in your battles, I wish you well

  • I took early out about a year ago from American. I was a flight attendant for almost 25 years. I have a new job that pays more with full insurance and I am home every night. You guys don't have to take it. Stop whining and shut American Airlines down. They really don't care and once you accept that, you will move on and feel better. My big advice to you, take a ound of flesh out their hide as you exit!

  • Disgusting! The FA's deserve recognition for what they do! Management will never appreciate them and are clearly stealing from them. Time for a new management?

  • Guys, MCI, STL and many other will suffer! In the ruthless acquisition of TWA (NO MERGER) many broken promises are now obvious! Without you the collective working force bringing management to their knees you will keep on loosing while their bonuses grow, the board of directors profit gains, no matter who down bellow suffers will alway bring management bonuses, promotions on the sweat of your behalf!

  • It really SUCKS what the managment at AA has done to the flight attendants. My neighbor is an AA flight attendant and she's lost 1/3 of everything, pay benefits vacation sick time, yet these BOZOS in Management won't give them SQUAT!

    SHAME ON MANAGEMENT. I've stopped flying AA unless it's absolutely neccessary. Southwest goes pretty much everywhere I need to go in the US.

    Time for other business people to boycott these greedy bAAstards too.

  • If unemployment is as high as I hear it is, AA should have its pick of executives ready to replace the bonus-grabbing thieves. Furlough the bonuses, and let these people go!

  • Everyone of these individuals will now make it onto the official "shit list" that management has and will eventually get fired, either through random bag checks or some other harassment. Employees are only numbers to AA. Less of them means more profits. If they could staff a 767 with 2 FA's they would. Cheap bastards.

  • The reality is, is that you all work for a union that has lost its power. You pay them close to $500 a year in dues and you get nothing in return, only more ass kissing to AA's execs. Wake up guys, this is capitalism at its worse and you need a strong union to fight for what you deserve. Unfortunately with Laura Glading at the helm, you won't get far at all.

  • Reality 101 (apples to airlines & most other businesses)::

    1. Employees as replaceable.

    2. Executives represent the  "best and the brightest" and cannot be replaced.

    3. When a company succeeds, it's due to executive leadership, which means a big bonus.

    4. When a company falters, it's due to external factors , so execs still deserve a bonus. (If YOU falter, you get fired.)

    5. A company is responsible to its shareholders (i.e the BIGGEST ones, not you).

    (I think its BS 101, but I don't count.)

  • great video!!!! I fly for United and wish that we along with AMERICAN..DELTA..USAIRWAYS....­.JET BLUE........SOUTHWEST... could do a system-wide STRIKE....to say that we are not going to finance the airlines with our wages anymore!!!!!!!!

Just hope the fat cat jerks in the boardroom don't get away with their disgusting, cruel and immoral plans. As for the guys & gals at AA keep fighting , we all support you regardless of what uniform we're in.

  • I support the AA flight attendants. I'm a flight attendant with a major European airline myself, and right now we are on the verge of a major industrial dispute just because our greedy asshole managers want to do the exact same thing to us that AA has done to it's FA's. Keep fighting guys, their are more people out there who support you than you may be aware of.

  • MANY of us are very very professional and courteous to our passengers, myself included. To group all 16,000+ of us in the same group as angry, etc is plain ignorance. Food for thought, MOST "FULL FARE TICKETS" ARE BEING PURCHASED AT PRICES CHEAPER THAN THEY WOULD HAVE SOLD FOR IN THE 1980'S! Inflation prices have yet to be reflected in air fares. If passengers want the frills, they need to lay out the bills. Or stop whining.

  • The flight attendants are correct. They are being screwed big time and they have every right to be upset about the way they are being treated. American Airlines executives should be ashamed of themselves.

  • I worked for them for 19+ years. I finally quit, so that I could stop banging my head into the wall! Nothing has changed since '87 and it never will. And, yes, I did my part in helping by volunteering with union matters. All the exec. are greedy and they are proud of it!! It is those at the top that exhibit shameful behavior!

  • "DICK"yco2, you are barking up the wrong tree. If every flight attendant walked off the job tomorrow, there would be lines out the door for people to replace us. It is not the employees that decide if we should have air travel or not, it is YOU, the flying public. Ever study Economics 101? Supply and demand, baby. You want airplanes out of the sky? Start swimming.

  • Very good point dickyco2....but after this much time at this job ...retirement sounds better than changing careers. However...many of us ARE working on other jobs....some to get out....some just to survive. My wife and I "Both of us Flight Attendants for AA"...are doing both....trying to survive and get out...ASAP

  • Stop the madness!  These flight attendants have put their {stolen contract} for over 6 years and are yet to receive any compensation. They have been stolen from AA management and it's time to reward the hard working flight attendants instead of AMR's worthless management! GO AA Flight Attendants!

  • THUMBS UP to my constituents! I, personally, MUST fly 100 hours or more each month to... BREAK EVEN and it sucks!!!! It's also harder to fly high-time now as there are fewer trips to pick-up because so many of us are in the same boat! I remain extremely loyal to American Airlines because I still love flying... but, those greedy bastards will get theirs in the end as I believe in karma!     Nonsense, where are they gonna go? Is United hiring, USAir, Continental? Let's see, Southwest is laying off. Like they would sour their Exec. corps. with a former AA exec. anyway.

    If an AA exec. need a bonus to stay onboard, let 'em go. They can say hello to the unemployment line. Let them learn they are not so special. Not so irreplaceable.

    Pull Together Win Together? Really now...you know this is not fair. Please understand...the Flight Attendants ARE an asset to American... NOT a just a labor work group you have to pay. Take care of your people ...and they WILL take of the company...."with smiles on there faces"

  • This is not strong enough. APFA was once the most powerful union in the airline industry. Its time to flex a little muscle. This is the moment to rally the cry of the working class against the greed and misdeeds of the rich elites. The rich executives have run amuck and the good, strong, ethical unions of this nation are the force that can stop them. Does anyone else remember the 11 days when APFA kicked Bob Crandal through the goal posts of labor? It's high time for public outrage!

  • When are we going to realize that the company will not give us our lost pay/sick/benes? The APFA is great, but a wait and see attitude, the permanent optimistic approach is NOT working. Maybe it's time to break Arpey's good streak with another 1993!

  • in the 6 years since the Flight attendants took a 30% pay cut, they have recieved 9% back in the form a annual 1.5% raises..

    Arpey, has recieved 22% raises in each of 2006, 2007 and 25% in 2008 alone.

  • I feel sick to my stomach, when I hear about bonuses again and again - the whole top-mamagement needs to be relieved of their duties. To take bonuses at this time is immoral. But greed is powerful.

  • Unfortunately, I'll bet there is a clause in their contracts that legally binds AMR to pay them bonuses. These contracts need to be re-written so it states if the company is not making a profit and other employees are giving up benefits, etc there should be no bonus.
