I was in Yakima that day and remember my father calling to my mother that it was snowing just before Sunday Mass. I remember the sky turning black as flakes of ash dropped from the sky. My father frantic on his home CB radio, especially placed in case the mountain exploded. I was 5. We still have tupperware containers full of that ash. Amazing to see this mountain in all it's majestic beauty, but lingering thoughts of when it will happen again continue to haunt me.
