Canadian Veterinary Journal found that "the large majority of seals taken during this hunt are killed in an acceptably humane manner." the killing/sale of whitecoat(baby seals) is illegal in canada. 1 million beef cattle die every day in north america.. and they're crying about population control on seals?

Yeah but cattle are farmed to be killed. Us killing cattle Doesn't affect the world population. Killing seals do affect the population of seals and other animals. How is clubing seals, and skinning them alive humane, with video proof to back it up.

If seals were farmed by the millions and didn't affect there population or other animals I wouldn't have a problem with them being killed.

This is just a manner of killing the right seals. And the seals, in opposition to the cattle, live their lives in the wild gorging on up to 4 kgs of fish a day. Look to the US and the heart of the EU, and see how they produce their meat. Then tell me that seal hunting is cruelty!

Well, how many baby cows were killed for veal ? How many baby lambs got killed for spring lamb ? How many baby chicks got shredded alive simply because they're male ? A million seals is nothing compared to those numbers and you seem to keep omitting the fact that the majority of these seals aren't clubbed but shot and aren't babies but animals that no longer feed of their mothers.

I'm assuming you mean excuse. Seals are eaten and have their skins worn by humans, just like cows. You're being highly selective here.

The claims of cruelty are highly questionable, even in the 2001 IFAW report, which includes a review of IFAW's footage from 1998-200O that states no definite cases of live skinning were determined (0 on 18 of the skinning observed). They didn't even determine when the 76 seals they autopsied died, estimating death could take "possibly hours". Quite Vague...

Wrong again. In a study conducted by the US Nutritional Board, it indicated that just under 250,000,000 metric tones of meat were produced in 2007. Of that meat only 13,000 metric tones was seal meat. Seal meat is barely eaten. The only people who do eat seal meat as a mainstay of their diets are aboriginal Americans. This group only took 5-7% of the seals in the 2007 season. The rest of their seal pup carcasses were left on the ice after skinning.
