it's a 6 speed straight cut dogbox gearbox. you can use them in a normal car but why? for the life of the gearbox when it's used right is very short and getting it reconditioned is very expensive. best bet is just get an automatic car with some triptronic paddle shifter if you want to ''feel like a rally driver'' that is..

you have the normal extended shifter (gearstick) and you can get the 2 mode optional paddle onto the steering wheel. the paddle would be better regarding keeping hands on the wheel. have a shorter shifter and get a larger hydraulic handbrake so it's only inches away and not a good 2feet from the wheel like in most cars..

@Tj1056 i cannot explain the entire system here but what you did not notice is the shifts are being done with the finger tips by using the paddle behind the steering wheel it is on the right side of the steering column look at other videos of rally cars (modern) and onboards to get an idea...it is like a sequential shift transmission reverse is selected using the stick also if the driver want to have better control gearing through turns or corners go to a rally show and get a closer look at cars

The drivers can opt to use the paddles or the stick... I prefer using the sequential gear stick than the paddles.

@cletedawgthewalmart Paddle Shifter which would be mounted to a double clutch, the aluminum stick that you see, is a hydraulic handbrake, which is basically a separate set of brakes which are linked to the handbrake if you like. Well that's how it acts but on the same set of calipers. Very common in all motorsports which are race spec.
