7th edition was better than 6th & 5th. What hurt 7th was the unbalanced army books. It made a few armies very powerful.

I don't think there is a minimum. You need another character as, I believe in 8th your BSB can't be your general.

Only double 6's give you anything special. The miscast table is brutal, not sure I wan't to roll double 6's. Your wizard will blow themselves up.
