I love mean pigeons and to me De Byter is not cranky but very funny. A cranky pigeon does not coo, but makes a sound like roek roek roek. I played with mean birds, and they had a very sweet and affectionate side as well: cooing and calling in my hands and even lying on my hand on one wing. I vastly prefer them to shy birds that fly away when you approach them.

I have only one pigeon but I wouldn't sell her for anything either. Pigeons are probably the loyalest animals of all. Plus they got more medals in WWII than all the other courageous animals combined. If you don't know the story of Queen Mary or GI Joe then you don't know enough about pigeons. They've saved thousands from impossible situations. There is no animal like them so I say poo poo on our statues. We still owe you so much more! Pigeons. One of nature's super animals!

Well, he may look sweet, but he sure is very aggressive. I mean a few years ago I caught some wild pigeons and they weren't very fiesty, but I've never seen a pigeon as aggressive as De Byter before! But that's ok. I like him, bacuase I like birds.

'Few contact with a person' is simply not on. De Byter is very tame. Tame birds are often playfully aggressive, like this pigeon. Also seek out on YT 'Scooter pigeon', a feisty Satinette and his son Poppy, The Dinkster, 'the Meanest Pigeon in the world', brought up by his owner as his mother had abandoned him. I have had 'mean pigeons', but paradoxically, they were very affectionate as well. Cooing and calling in my hand, lying on one wing on my hand.
