  • Quick question Mr. Pendlay: his grip is wrong and so is his head position (according to the methods in Starting Strength - I am not defending it just pointing out). Correct grip is with thumbs on top of bar and not under, which is what he is doing. Head position should have his eye gaze pointing down to engage more hip drive. This dude here is looking straight ahead. What gives?

  • @MATEOTL86 the head position in starting strength is for beginners to safely keep their head in line with their spine. by looking straight ahead and pulling the bar into your traps, you keep your chest out while still keeping your cervical spine in correct posture.
