  • Perfect!

  • please could you explain how you got the effects spot on.

    amazing video too mate.

  • I think the effect is a little too much, just get a muff pedal or a FuzzFace which is a reissue of the arbiter fuzz that he used and throw in some reverb :) Not saying any sound is perfect, you will never recreate his sound exactly because his beautiful style is incorporated.

  • Hi Duey, what is your website? I want to read more about your tone. :) Thanks!

  • @MadGriffith it is posted on my channel

  • is this a mode or pentatonic and if it is a mode can you give the name please?

  • sounds great,what effects are u using?

  • Thank you for your vids. I learned a lot seing it.

  • Dude, we can't see your pick hand. some lesson.

  • How do you do that little palm mute harmonic thing in the beginning?

  • Excellent video, you helped me out alot. Thanks for your HD500 patches!! Sounds Killer!!!!

  • Nice lesson. Would be a lot better though with tablatuture.

  • this isnt a lesson.. it's realy hard to follow :/

  • This is a fantastic lesson. The only problem I'm having is with the muted strum at the very beginning. The video isn't quite synced so I can't tell exactly what is being played. Is it a muted strum of the 12th fret on the top three strings with an open fourth string? Any clarity would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

  • This was a lot of help i learned the solo in about an hour from this video. Thanks!

  • Can you tell me what strings you use?

  • 32 people to high to fly......

  • Hey man thanks for the lesson! I was sort of able to play this for awhile now but I had a lot of discrepancies in what I was doing with this. This helped a lot, and I play it smoother now. Thank you.

  • @Evolution2810 On Guitar Rig Pro 4, go to browser>Styles>Metal>God's Love. It's close, you can tweak some settings and get it perfect

  • @rrrajiv1234567890 Read my tone guide on my website :-)

  • Hey someone can post the tabs, please?

  • @P0wnedChicken321 yeah totally !!!!!!!!! best band ever

  • where does ur vibrato come from? u dont make it with the fingers, I can see this. Do u use autovibrato affect oder the trem bar ?

  • @guitar789 The tremolo bar.

  • @duey101 on this video do you remember what strings you use....im using tens and they bend great but im thinkin about going to 9s or even 8s....but i hear a lot of concern about lighter gauge strings like that go out of tune really easy...i have a gnl legacy special with those tunin pegs with the screw thing on the back...i dont what you call it....but anyways....just curious

  • @guitar789 very great guitar and amp will do this effect. or you can try master on low, volume on max :)

  • @incraze1 wow this really works, i have a nice vibrato know with master on low and volume on max. Next thing I will do is rubbing along the fretboard with a piece of chalk to get these squealing sounds!

  • @guitar789 haha no problem m8. ive been experiencing a bit with the old amplifier and theres so many techniques to it. just takes time to learn the trick to the amp.

  • @Kalfastehpro there are tabs on ultimate guitar, just google comfortably numb solo tab, u should see it

  • Thanks, great tutorial!!

  • @Kalfastehpro if you want tthe full tabs just go to songsterr type in pink floyd in search and full song will come up in tab and in the parts its played.

Great job, great playin and most of all thanks for the time i know you put in creating these gems. Do you plan on doing any of the solos from ANIMALS? It would be much appreciated and i ll check in to see what you`ve done...Thanks again, a fellow Gilmour lover. STH

  • 26 people could learn this song

  • esto si es un buen tutorial... no esa gente que se queda hable hable y hable -.-

  • im having trouble around 1:00 i kinda see and hear what hes playing, but not really

  • excellent ;)

  • Anybody know the settings for Line 6 Spider III ?

  • @scottdahippie Just set the knobs all to 12 o'clock. Wear some ear plugs cuz you might go deaf after awhile.

  • very nice tutorial, but I can´t seem to tune my amp right.. any suggestions?

  • fuck, you use super extra 0.02 slinky strings or something?

  • Wow.. Your amp sounds awesome.. May I ask what your playing through? thanks man!!

  • Wow, 24 deaf and blind people visited this video and missed the like button, i dont blame them..

  • Love the way the pectoral fin (tone) cuts through the ice blue ocean pacific..Searching for a big piece of life..Surprised attack by a white killed me in my sleep at night

  • exelent tutorial

  • Greatest solo of all time.

  • Love that bend to G at 1:08; it gives me chills.

  • which is the pedal you use for the guitar? very good tutorial!

  • @duey101 Nice solo, please the effects for this part!

  • Hey, great cover! Could you please tell me your amp presets?

  • Would anyone consider this a hard solo? I know it's pentatonics so with good knowledge of the scales it would be easier to move around the frets, the live version with David Bowie I think is around 5 minutes or something, and probably I'm gonna learn this version.

  • Thanks a lot for the video! May I ask what camera did you use?? It's really nice quality.

  • this is definately a solo tht hits you.

  • hi there, thanks for the detailed lesson. I have a Boss me-25 I am wondering how I can get the right tone. would you help me with the patch and the effect setup pls!

    cheers

  • Great vid, The solos in that song makes me just close my eyes and hope it never ends.

  • Whats with your fretboarO.o what is this little whit in the wood, because by my guitar is it the same._.HELP

  • @jamal90901 dude...those r fret markers......seriously??? wtf? i hope thats not what ur talkin bout and if it is....u need help O_O

  • @daltonreyes9087 XDDD Noo.When I have cleaned my fretboard then the wood have some white little ....on it XD i dont now but on your fretboard it looks the sameO.o?

  • Sustain ? you need a chorus pedal and compressor/ sustain pedal . turn the gain/ channel volume up and the master down on your amp . sustain all day . o yeah a decent instrument helps . trouble is you get this annoying metal tone . which can be a trap if your are trying to learn to play . always play it on acoustic to see where your mistakes are . good luck

  • Great Lesson. Keep them coming!

  • Can you share how you got that tone. Its incredible! Great lesson. thanks

  • I couldn't see which string you were playing on and it was still too fast :(

  • i got high just like listening to gilmour playing this

  • ohh man I thought he was a Fender Stratocaster Blue like mine =) very good

  • thanks¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ :)

  • tabs next time?

  • Fantastically played, man. I can't tell if you've answered this before, but what guitar do you use? I love the way it sounds! :)

  • hi, great job... I just started learning the guitar.... how do you get that sustain....?

  • @Bobby59 I don't think it's anything you can really do, it's mainly down to what the guitar is made from, pickups and how loud you have your amp. I think there are things you can do but it's mainly down to those factors :)

  • Sounds great! What effects are you using?

  • what tones and stuff do u use??

  • I like your video's and subscribed,, I need to brush up on my gilmour licks. I wish II could hear how you would sound through something other than the pod. When you play the beginning of the actual song, that tone is so good. Then when you play it, it just has that digital sound, I know it's probably practical for you because of recording purposes,so please don't take this as an insult. Peace

  • this is a brilliant tutorial. i am an absolute idiot since i am a beginner at playing the guitar but it would be fantastic if this was played a bit more slowly...

  • I want to be your neighbour!! lol Thanks for the help here...I struggle with getting the bend correct but you helped loads!!

    keep the good work up.

  • make an acoustic version. it sounds amazing with a bit of a bluesy twist

  • great man. i love ur tone a little delay would be perfect

  • Great lesson man. What effects do you use for this?

  • thanx..good job...heading for the second now...

  • i give up...

  • @mclaren450 dont give up without a fight

  • pedazo tutorial y pedazo solo

  • Great tutorial. Thanks for your help buddy.

  • Awesome tutorial, what effects or distortion are you using?

  • Great tutorial. What effects and distortion are you using?

  • nice sound man

  • dude is it just me or are your strings suuuuper thin

  • Didn't David use a Les Paul on this solo?

  • no he played with his black Fender Strat

  • helped me alot cause the tabs sucked. Easy solo

  • amazing job on this one as well

  • Really fucking great playing. Strong fingers. haha. I need to learn this fast.

  • I can play both solos note for note and even improvise off of it but I have never been able to find quite the right sound for it with my equipment. What stuff is being used because that's the only place i need help.

  • Try getting your sound as close to Gilmours, then play these solos with a metal pick or a quarter, you will notice the harmonics from your picking instantly. Effects you could try are things like a thick distortion, chorus, delay, and a compressor in front. Good Luck.

  • Cool. I have on Distortion at 45 Gain and 50 level. I have chorus on 14(out of 100). I have delay on 100 mps. I don't have a compressor on it has 3 settings on my effect box: Fast, Medium, Slow...which would I use? Other things I have going on are British amp modeling, Silencer on the Gate. Reverb is up a little bit too.

  • I want to know what David Gilmour used for the solo. Its a secret that only he knows. :(

  • its fantastic metod congratulation ... very very nice tank you

  • Hey man fantastic just like the man himself (close second anyway) Brilliant work what are you setting , and the pedals being used

  • Very nice... that tone is amazing... check out my version of the first solo, i need all the feedback i can get on it

  • maple neck ftw lol

  • es linda.. no esta mal, ademas es que se yo.. algo motivador, no?... =)

  • WHAT'S THE PEDAL THAT IS BEING USED?

  • sounds like a guitar rig

  • Great job, i like very much. Thanx

  • Single one words, Ouaaa, I like the sound which goes out of your ampli.

  • Best lesson out there,,really easy to understand at slow speed,,Thanx!!

  • Would the real david gilmore please stand up

  • you have some serious talent

  • What Effects/Sounds is in that to make it like that? I have a fender stratocaster

  • @DontWearAWig i think it's some chorus..

    and delay

  • @DontWearAWig Chorus&Delay about 550ms of delay,,and maybe a little flanger,very little<

  • omg i feel like the strings are gonna get loose and snap you in the face =D

  • Just learned this new solo thanks to you duey101. Appreciate for your lessons my friend.

  • Hi. should I try and learn this one on an acoustic guitar or is it not worth the result, what do you think? Thanks.

  • Mate ... fantastic, I tried the tabs and could never get it...

  • That was a very good lesson. It really helped me play the first solo. Thank you very much.
