All the best for the comp. Your mum sounds like she has endless amounts of perseverance and a lot of spirit. My advice for anyone in an abusive relationship, is to seek help, before it's too late. Yes it can happen to you, it's just that it hasn't happened to you yet that makes you think it never will. If the bad out-weighs the good and you know there are better people out there for you, go with your heart, it's there to guide you when your head can be wrong.

Five years I was stuck in a rut thinking that I could never find anything better but with perseverance from my Mom I got out of there, moved off, started post secondary, found a real partner in life and have never been better. Always take the chance, you dont deserve to be treated like that.
