  • a diet u call it? how bout food management and proper leash walking tactics for starters, not dragging a 3.5 ton vehicle, sounds like the owners need to excersize themselves and go walk the dog and leave the tv and bon bons alone. i hope i see u on tv in a court room for animal cruelty

  • @myakita02 Yes. We changed his diet after asking our vet what he needed to be consuming for peak performance while pulling. He still gets regular walks with proper healing skills. Why so judgmental? You could have just asked a few questions...

  • YOU people should be shot in the foot and you should never be able to own an animal again. using an animals obedience to break down thier bodies when they are already prone to have hip problems for ur entertainment is just outrageous.

  • @myakita02 Rocky was X-rayed for hip displaysia and cleared by our vet to begin weight pull training at 18 months. This is a sport for dogs all over the country. We got him involved in cart pulling, obedience, and therapy dog skills as well. He is not being used for our entertainment, but does need mental and physical stimulation. Thanks for the comment. Do you have any questions?

  • @myakita02 bahahahahhaahahha people like you crack me up. its a completely safe sport if owner takes care of the animal.

    nice try buddy.

the only thing they didnt do good was have so much slack when the dog first took off. nothing else wrong there.

  • i dont get this video WTF

  • @slodiler what don't you get? There's a description...did you read it?

  • @AkitaPullin yes and still wtf sorry but -.-

  • He's strong. No wander my arm used to kill me when I was training my Kuma to heal.

  • Badass akita

  • @hunglike2horses Thanks!

  • I really want to tell you how to own a weight pulling dog, but as we all can see your not yet ready.

  • @SAMKREATOR oh really? What tips and advice do you have?

  • @AkitaPullin Sorry, That's not up to me :)

  • the truck was moving before he started pulling...

  • @ConnArtist333 yes, it was moving, as this set up is slightly downhill. If you watch the video again, you will see the truck come to a full stop just before he begins pulling. Thanks for watching!

  • @SAMKREATOR why is this wrong?

  • @AkitaPullin The dog really needs a push start?

  • @SAMKREATOR there is no push start. The truck was pulled up too far and not yet back on level ground, so it was rolling backwards slowly. You can see the truck stop just before Rocky starts pulling. Why the attitude? This is just a video of me being proud of my dog because he has something to do that makes him happy. Is that wrong somehow?

  • @AkitaPullin lol i didn't mean to come of that way. I apologize.

  • @SAMKREATOR thanks. I have had a bit of hate on my videos saying I am mean to my dog or mistreat him. I love Rocky very much, and am proud to have an Akita that has a long enough attention span to pull or even fetch. He is no longer in weight pulling due to a knee injury at the dog park.

  • @AkitaPullin prolly wouldnt have injured it at normal play if he hadnt spent all this time pulling around your POS truck.

  • @myakita02 that's like saying an NBA star will never tear his ACL during normal practice. Those things happen. Again, he went to the vet, and was cleared from this being a pull related issue. They said it is a very common injury for large dogs who go to the dog park/daycare. It was also two years AFTER he stopped pulling. Again, ask questions before you judge, please.

  • @flexin007 Thanks :) Plain and simple...Rocky likes food. I began all his tricks by treat training, but for weight pulling, he just had to "do it for free." That proves that he wants to, not that he's doing it for the treat. the treat in pulling, for him, is to be let off the line when he has pulled to me. Also, he comes from sweet parents :)

  • @flexin007 Thanks for the nice comments. I got rocky from Grand Vista Akitas d o t c o m here in Colorado. They are fantastic breeders. Check out that website please if you would like a pup. Simply fab dogs!

  • @flexin007 I believe Rocky is currently the only Akita pulling in the country, as Akitas are typically too stubborn and unwilling to be in this sport. Agreed that bully dogs in general have the drive and 'need to please' their people that makes them excell in weight pulling. If anyone else has an Akita that pulls, please let me know!

  • I DONT AGREE WITH THIS POOR AKITA !

  • @scraderz20 why do you say "poor Akita"?

  • @AkitaPullin made to pull heavy weights for a treat its tite

  • @scraderz20 he doesn't get treats. he does it because he wants to. the iwpa does not allow dogs to be treated in any way, so I trained him without treats or toys. there are days when he is a typical akita and will not pull at all. akitas are not big in this sport because they are too independant. it is amazing that he will pull at all, let alone with no treats.

  • @scraderz20 I hear that.

  • i didnt know people use akitas for weight pulling.... what breed is stronger? APBT pitbulls or akitas?

  • @eddy8496 I would say from experience the pit is the overall choice for this sport. Pound for pound, they are smaller, pulling a higher percentage against their own bodyweight. Pits also have the drive for this sport...not too many Akitas out there that will do this! Rocky has his good days, and his "I-wouldn't-do-this-for-all-the-treats-in-the-world" days!

  • umm.,. i have an akita. his name iz sheeba a full black/brown and he has white paws and a white chest.. he is quiet strong for his age.. he has really,, big pawz and i meaan REALY big pawz and he is 5 month going on 6, he iz ryt naw the size of a full grown akita because he has big bones,, will he grow any bigger? and seeing tat he has big bones and iz big,, can i start making him pulll weightz? please reply to my comment, thankyou for your help :)

  • @yaspicho that's great that you want to get started! Although he is large, his bones and joints will not be developed fully until at least 18 months old. you can begin to train with a harness and a short chain (about 10 lbs max) attached but that's all or you risk joint problems later in life. let me know if you have any other questions!

  • thaths fake the dog didnt pulled for 2 sec and the car was moving=))

  • @makiaveliable Exactly what I was thinking.

  • @MrRareFind please watch his other videos as well. I promise these are not fake.

  • Something tells me that dog is peanut butter trained while G.I. Joe is off on his weekend warrior missions.

  • tsc you suck

  • strong dog,hey i have a question,for whath age begining trainig,i have 2 akitas and dont know begining,kisses colombia.escuse my english jejeje

  • I would say that since there are puppy harnesses available, you can begin with something like a milk jug as soon as your puppy learns to come to you. Just remember...NO weight until 18 months when your dog's bones and joints have developed! The you can begin with light drag weights :)

  • very false!

  • the video or the last comment?

  • A dog will almost always pull in harness...it's a natural thing. Just be sure to always walk your dog on a collar, always pull in the harness :)

  • Thanks guys!

  • WOW!!!! :-)

  • wow!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome. How do you encourage him to pull? I spent ages teaching mine not to pull on the lead, so she stops whenever there's resistance now.

  • Lol me too PMolk... Shame because i'd like him to build more muscle...
