  • You really should add a step/note/comment overlay to discharge the big 400v cap by shorting with a screwdriver or something after removing the power board for safety purposes. That high voltage warning is there for a reason.

  • @eetoi you should really never post such a moronic piece of advice is what you should do!

  • LOL I just got one of these from an e-waste bin, thinking it was bad caps as well, and it was! Can't wait to fix it!

  • Hello .. I have an Acer AL1916W monitor with the same problem as the video demonstrated decreased. My question is ... They are the same cacitores that this model should I change? Is there anything else I need to do? I need a bailout ... I'm waiting for contact. thank you

  • Same problem here with the AcerAL2017, it turns off after 3 seconds..

now i have seen this tutorial, im sure i need a new 1, way to hard to do all that stuff but thanks anyway

  • Thanks for the video. Woke up this AM with a DOA monitor just like you describe. I inspected the capacitors and found 5 defective (top of capacitor domed, not flat). These were 220uf at C200, CE101 and CE108 (replacement Radio Shack 272-1029) and 1000uf at CE102 and CE103 (replacement Radio Shack 272-1032), all of the same manufacturer. The other caps by other manufacturers were not defective so I didn't replace them. Worked great afterwards. Back up and running by evening.

  • Thank you, very helpful for me in this video!

    KÖSZÖNÖM ! ; )

  • Thanks man, I was able to take my AL2017 apart thanks to your video. After replacing 5 of the blown capacitors it's working like a charm again!
