  • when I try to mute it, I just muffle the sound entirely. would i need to get a effects pedal to get a fuller sound?

  • @fuglymidgets I'm not sure what's going on there. If you are lightly laying your palm across the strings at the bottom of the guitar with your picking hand, it does muffle the sound. An effects peddle will help because that muffled sound should become a crunch if you use a metal effect. The sound changes somewhat depending on how how much pressure you apply to the strings.

  • @JeremyPattonGuitar thanks for the help, im picking up a rp100 next week.

  • @fuglymidgets Cool. I'm not sure if I've used that model. There are a lot of good effects pedals out there. You can get a nice one for less than $100.

  • @JeremyPattonGuitar Oh wait, is that the one I'm using in the video, haha? If so, I've had a lot of fun with it.

  • @JeremyPattonGuitar ye dude haha i think it is, you mentioned it in one of your comments. thanks for the advice, hopefully now my thrash band wont sound so pussy

  • @fuglymidgets You're welcome. Keep practicing.

  • hey im learning guitar, i play in drop d, should i get lessons or teach myself? also, ive been teaching myself for about 3 months, how much progress should i have gained? please answer thnx

  • @xiNfEcTiOnSTUDIOx I am mostly self-taught, but that is a lot easier these days thanks to Youtube and other websites. Lessons will always help, but how much money and time you spend depend on how serious you are. I play guitar as a hobby and to relax. Teaching yourself guitar is slower than having experienced players help you.

As far as your progress, I can't answer that. It depends on how much time you put in and how well you practice.

  • what number do you have your pedal on?

  • @jromeakarockstar7 RP100A

  • hhmmmm im barely learning guitar....gotta teach maself x.x haha hmmm but is there a certain way the tone is supposed to be so it sounds like yours...mine sounds different nd its irritating me or does it have to do with how i set the amp i have a guitar looks exactly like yours but i dont know how to set the things aha please help me out ....imna subscribe :D

  • @cuddledorky In this video, my guitar is connected to an effects pedal that is connected to my amp. I'm using a Digitech effects pedal, the best $80 I ever spent. Anyway, the pedal is how I get the crunch sound.

  • great teaching.
