Yes it is, and the battery life varies depending on what you are using it for, there are 3 different settings for the battery, Power Saver which sacrifices performance for battery life, High Performance which does the exact opposite, and HP Recommended, which is a 50/50 mix of the two. For the average user on High Performance you will get maybe 3-4 hours approx. You may get more, you may get less it depends on how you use it.
On Power Saver you can get between 5-6 hours approx. but again it WILL vary depending on how you use it, for example, on power saver doing only text based computing and web surfing I got about 6 and a half hours out of it. Hopefully this answered your question thanks for watching! Cheers!

I recommend you don't by one because I HATE my dv4 the hard drive is really noisy so don't get one

I bought this same computer in January 2010.Mine came with Windows 7. I Iove it! Small and FAST! Plays movies great as you said. Great buy at $549.
