Memorabile song. il brano e stato un grande successo di Fats. uno dei pionieri della musica rock, ottima anche la versione di Elvis due grandi anche se io sono di parte.
I remember one day that my grandma was over at my house and she was talking about Fats Domino and I clicked on this song and as soon as he started singing she was just patting her foot away
These songs remind me of when i lived in Kingcome Inlet my home town. we use to only have radio. My mom would whistle a lot. My dad use to play in banquets. :) Fond memories
This hit by Fats Domino hit #2 on the Top 40 charts, #1 on the Rhythm & Blues charts, and #6 in the United Kingdom. It would finish at #41 for the year, 1956.
This song always makes me think of Richie Cunningham on Happy Days. He'd always sing this when he came home from a good date. Great song, great memories!
My Mom and Aunt saw him perform in Vallejo, Ca., at which she lived in Napa, Ca. (I think),at the time. The most extrodinary performance of her, l guess, was quite an lifetime. His ability to slide across the piano, was a sight that seem impossible and unbelievable.
This has been my long time favourite song by Fats Domino. Many people have sung this but none have achieved the beautiful melodic tones and overall perfection that this artist seems to achieve. The single was bought me by my second serious girlfriend she was a teacher in Germany. She realised it was my favourite. I still have it in my collection ...smiles. This song has been played by many and heard many times that we may have overlooked the importance of just how much of a masterpiece it is
It's not about the song as much as it is his voice. It almost sounds perfect for this type of music. There's a touch of nasal tone, but I think it adds to the overall effect rather than detracts from it.
I just think the way he says "blueberry hill" the first time is just great.
Blueberry Hill/Ain't that a Shame/I first heard this in 1958 - (in the Ellis's garage) a mere 10 year old "white Zulu" kid from the KwaZulu-Natal countryside who has never looked back ... enjoyed over 5 decades of great black artists of many genre's ...
fats domino was definetly born in new orleans. he does some pretty good jazz''i found my thrill on blueberry hill,on bluberry hill ,when i found you'' pure new orleans jazz
some one sung this song on Stars in their Eyes (an old 90's British tv show) my brother was about 7 at the time, the person that song this song on that program. when he didn't win my brother started to cry cause he wanted him to win. The person actually sounded just like Fats. Tbh I wanted him to win too. Nevertheless the originals are always the best first time round by the artiest.
Yet again 36 people don't know great music when they hear or listen to it
as a response to samisgay, I would say first off, do not knock lady gaga, she is wonderful. This song, however, the real fatman, is pure rock. The fatman played blues that the whites loved, and no one can say it was not good. He is a tremendous part of rock and roll history, and will always be remembered.
@ajweberman I guess you think that is a witty remark. I think it is insensitive and cruel. Anita Hill was "raped" twice--first, by Thomas and then at the Senate confirmation hearings. Further, Ms. Hill took a lie detector test and PASSED. Thomas refused to take one. That spells GUILTY to me.
I am making fun of Clarence not Anita. I think he was guilty. I never expected his sort of reaction. You have an attitude. Satire is a form of criticism.
@ajweberman Yours was not satire; it was an ugly form of sarcasm. I'm sure Thomas would find it humorous, but I doubt very much that Anita Hill would. I do have an attitude!

I was talking with a 22 year old not long ago about early rock and mentioned Fats Domino. He did not know the name but I assured him he knew his music. I "You tubed" Blueberry Hill, his eyes lit up and he said "Oh, is that Fats Domino"?
However many different artists have recorded this tune, I say without question this is the most recognizable.
