I was at one of these in Shinjuku and I was totally getting owned at the claw game. A 20 year old guy was nice enough to give me a few more coins when I ran out. So nice of him.

I like the Afterburner machine that's like a cockpit you climb into. Not sure if that was exclusive to the US or what. I pumped many a quarter into those things.

Sadly arcades have become virtually extinct in the US. Nobody wants to go out and interact anymore. Much more convenient to have a bag of Frito's within hands reach and the comfort zone of hiding behind a headset as you smack talk.

@JunmaiShu I feel the same way dude! I like meeting new people and actually going out. Now the age of arcades has come and gone here in the USA. There's only a couple of arcades here in S.F. and they're not that big.

Strange how things work. I stopped in an arcade last night in a mall out of town. There were actually some people there, and that felt good. Nothing like the old skool, elbow to elbow, pits/cologne bumpin, stackin quarters across the machine to reserve cab days. But, it was nice to see people there.

I saw a Ms. Pac Man machine back in the corner and went to town.

My cousin told me about a 5 story arcade in Japan when i was about 12 years old (im 20 now). I never believed it but HOLY CRAP after all these years he was right! I MUST GO!! lol

There was something so magical about going to the arcade. And thats just from my own experience, Im not really from the arcade generation.

But now that the home consoles are so much more powerful, the arcades have lost alot of steam

Not many people in the game center. Hard to beat HD graphics these days. Home consoles have killed the arcades where I live. : ( I did go to an arcade center when I was in Hiroshima. The music based games were popular. Theres a drum game that was really fun but the guy next to me was rocking out on this guitar game.
