No one can sing it like the "BASS", whether they were trying to or not-but she wasn't that bad. Now can anyone tell me who wrote "Goldfinger" ? Trivia Question.
@amuslima99 Music written by John Barry who died earlier this year, lyrics written by lyricist Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley (lyricist and singer who recorded the first Goldfinger version ever.) The Newley Bricusse duo has written many amazing songs such as What Kind Of Fool Am I (which was awarded a Grammy) or Feeling good. By the way, the first person ever besides Barry to hear the music of Goldfinger was veteran actor Sir Michael Caine.
@Thorneycroft1937 Ah... not bad. Lol ! (I'm just kidding). Very good and thanks for all that info. I trying to think of the one person I've heard sing "What Kind of Fool Am I". I think Robert Goulet. Someone with a booming voice for sure. Yeah, Anthony Newley, if I'm not mistaken wrote songs for Dr.Doolittle w/Rex Harrison also. You know Anthony Newley use to be married to Joan Collins of whom they have a child together.
Hey Swinging60sGuy!!! Thanx so much for all the awesome stuff!!! Is any of it transcoded to VIDEO_TS? I'd so LOVE to have a Donna Loren Compilation!!!
Mmmm hmmm music now-a-days cant even be called music, well actually there is some good songs, but nothing compared to shindig 65, i mean i am only 23 but come on!!
she does sound great! I'm with those who say Shirley is still the best, but that doesn't mean this girl wasn't amazing, lol. I think she was trying to pay tribute to Shirl in a way, cause she sings it almost exactly the same way. Even the grunt at the end! LOL.
AMAZING! Donna really has a living presence on this song. Not only does she look sultry, sexy and sweet, but she really delivers a complete package that kisses you upon delivery. Likewise, this is the kind of girl that a lonely satellite a zillion miles from earth, way out in the lonely depth of space, would be proud to call the girl next door.
I had no idea she had the range or presence she displays in this clip. I think she does really well by the song...and it's one of my all-time favorites!!
16) when this orginally aired and I was horrified. The song, her get up and the performance made her seem older than her years--I blame the writers and producers, not Loren. Shindig was there before Hullaballo and I watched both but this particular performance stands out as one of the reason's why I preferred Hullaballo. Just compare this performance to Maryanne Faithful's "As Tears Go By" on Hullaballo that same year.
Blacksocks, SHE WASN"T Trying to be Shirley Bassey, it was a younger hipper version done for teens. Donna is a great singer comparing her to Bassey is like apples & oranges. Both are great.
Great clip...

I think that, too!
But of course nobody sings this song like Shirley,
some say she was born to sing it.
