he was voted into the finals (top 4) of the best standup of the year for the American Comedy Awards about 6 years ina row before he won... voted by customers inside of comedy clubs across the country. thats like being up for best actor at the oscars of comedy- and most of those years were BEFORE Home Improvement was on TV.

Tim Allen is such a funny comedian!!! His life has been his act and everyone can relate to it. That's why his sitcom was such a hit. The same with Bill Cosby, Jerry Seinfeld, George Lopez, Bernie Mac and of course the wonderful Roseanne Barr. It was funny but realistic. Many people forget this is where Tim got started. With a suit and a microphone. Tim Allen is just amazing.
