Love your boat. I have 2 of them. Unfortunately debris in the water has broken off all the blades on all the props. I built a set for one using brass. Haven't tried it in the water yet. Happy sailing, Bill

It comes with a gearbox that provides motive power for all 4 shafts, yes it works and the shafts are good, to waterproof them just fill the shafts with regular automobile grease, through replace the spring loaded couplings with silicone couplings.

as for the battery,I use a 6v lead-acid GEl cell 15 4.5ah, though I have changed the gearbox for individual "385" type motors, makes for quieter running!

YUP its the nichimo kit, 4 motors inside her, with twin speed controllers. she is a 10 year old model as well and still going strong!

Thx Xantec. I got this model last year. still in the box because still thinking any modification works required. The original gear box and the shaft box(waterproofing) is ok? What motor and battery voltage you use? your sail speed is pretty realistic. thx a lot your advice.

atomic sheep, the model is £300 odd new before radio gear, however my baby is 10 years old purcased in 2006 for a mere £110, all i had to do was get her back on the water :)
