Okay, yet again, after revisiting this page, have to say something, and regardless of Playboy's applause of Melanie Chartoff's boobs...I am now, as an adult, a victim of her intellect and those hypnotizing eyes. She could ask me to do anything and I'd be her faithful servant. I was 9 in 1980, and stayed up to watch Fridays to see the Jim Carroll Band, Jefferson Starship and Kiss (I Love It Loud,) and SCTV, and I'll never forget, that young, the elbow/2nd base move...
12-15-2009. Happy Birthday, Melanie. I will always remember you on Fridays. The Andy Kaufman moment was hilarious. And I also remember you on The Freddie Prinze Story. Sadly, it still happens...too famous, too fast. Anyway, many happy returns.
In the obituary that People magazine ran on Andy, Melanie tells the story of Andy asking her to dinner (I'm assuming just as friends), and her saying she had to jog first. He went with her to the track and said "hi" everytime she ran by... For half an hour. lol So sweet. I love that story.
Melanie Chartoff was the news anchor on ABC's "Friday." She was basically Tina Fey before Tina Fey...that is, without the horn-rimmed glasses. Not only did she worked solo but she was also much funnier.
Melanie Chartoff was, and still is, the queen of "Fridays". In the early 1990's, she played Principal Grace Musso on the Fox sitcom "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" [I think she was the queen of that show as well], and a few years later, played Didi Pickles in Nickelodeon's "Rugrats" cartoons.
what ever happened to melanie? I remember her also from a daytime show called "whats hot whats not" I remember her looking stoned on several shows back in the 80's
I'll tell you, we are 110% in agreement with her last statement, even today. I had the hots for her back then but didn't write any strange letters! hahaha She is a looker!
Yea, who didn't fantasize about doing Ms.Musso in her office..... : p

Melanie Chartoff was a comedian; Tina Fey is a cunt. Thats the difference.
