Floods don't do that. They discovered it must have taken millions of years to make what we see. They knew the earth was Millions of years old before radiometric dating was invented and showed it was Billions of years old.

@63ajw Oh, I don't know, maybe the double Bachelor's degrees, working on my second Master's and heading to get my PhD would have something to do with it. Or maybe the two study abroad terms I did with my Anthropology and Archaeology classes. You know, you do have to read to get through school. @ThePuckington Well, the idea that "knowing" something is there, takes away free will, is nonsense. If I knew for a fact that there were a god, I could still choose not to acknowledge him for what he is. But that is not what the term, "free will" refers to. We have free will to do what we wish, whether it is deemed right or wrong, not to believe or not. If you know it's true, even if you don't acknowledge, you still know. And to ask, would require some faith to begin with.

But point being, Knowing what created you, the purpose, consequences, heaven and hell etc. Is bigger than any discovery to know, so yes, if you did see your creator, your purpose your consequences, the after life etc. It would limit your choices because 1 of our purposes in life is to learn and grow. Floods don't do that. They discovered it must have taken millions of years to make what we see. They knew the earth was Millions of years old before radiometric dating was invented and showed it was Billions of years old.

If I knew for a fact that there were a god, I could still choose not to acknowledge him for what he is. But that is not what the term, "free will" refers to. @Electricretropants First the Bible came a 1000 years before mohummad was ever thought of and the only thing the muslim get from the Bible is the old testament and the still got that wrong because in the quran is said that one of Noah's sons drowned then later on it said all Noah's family survived but the Bible said that all Noah's family lived so dont compare the Bible to any other religion because the Bible is the only true book from God

"God, if what I'm seeing/hearing/reading is true please show me the truth"... at the time I wasn't a Christian even though I grew up in a Christian home.
