Bitsaremissing marketing must have cloth for brains. Their logic: its better than existing plasma, lcd, led so lets rrp it at highest price points. Well it would have the potential to be a disruptive technology but get it out there, showcase it to business & government decision makers and buyers at events, airports, government environment conferences etc. And push the product with some loss leaders and tv giveaways so it can be demonstrated and proven. Kudos to the laservue engineering folks.
I refuse to pay over $6,000 dollars for this TV, but I would pay 6,300 dollars. People always coming out with something new and better, wish I would have waited before I had purchased my Kuro Elite. Shuks!
They'll soon find out that people won't be able to afford them (economic crisis) and so thanks to the small size of the market they will stop producing these tvs so the technology will vanish again for a few years probably ;) Thanks mitsubishi for buying the technology from the australian developer and sending it to the death on the market. But that's how market cleans itself of bad decisions.. a bad business plan should always fail.
So get on with it already- I'm all ready to buy one as soon as they actually show up in stores! It'll be replacing my 40-inch Mits picture tube, which I've got a video of on here under my previous username.

it sounds great but the price sounds stupid if it costs less to make than a regular hd tv then it souldnt cost $7000 dollars its common sense

Ontariocanuck76,
Keep in mind that the development of the product has a cost to that need to be recieved. Many manufactures had already attempted to make this product.
A TV that uses less power and has more accurate color. Why would they put it at a lower price.

because of the sell-factor-advantage...
products who dont cost so much, will increase the amount of selled objects!

New product. Prices will be high to start. As time goes and demand grows, the price will drop.

The sad part is apparently it cost them a lot less to make these TV's than LCD or Plasma.
Yet they are pricing them in the same bracket.
Why not under-cut the prices and simply take over the market.
Most people would buy this if it has as long of a life span as an LCD and no burn-in and the picture never degrades.
Color and black level might even be superior or around Pioneer KURO class.
So stupid they price them so high.
Imagine how big of a market they could have with 50 inch prices.

You might be right.
Then again the price level their at only people that has some "extra" cash can afford them, which means they probably sell the same.
I guess time will tell.
I'm hoping it will stick around, color that never fades and picture that remains strong is very nice.
