  • 7? Is that a joke or is it serious? Ha

  • I'm thirteen, and I can only play hot crossed buns. Compared to him, I'm a failure...

  • i though he would play srv -_-

  • Long live Led Zeppelin!!!

  • wow you're pretty big for a seven year old! lol not saying you weren't seven by the way

  • I like how the basketball hoop is above his head at the start when he is playing that song.

  • are you self taught??

  • @MultiSuperfunny ,,I had a Godin MIDI guitar connected through a roland guitar synth to a apple Power mac running software called Mibac Music lessons. Computer displayed the notes on the staff and I would play them on the Godin Midi guitar.Reading notation and finding it on the guitar was two learning curves that I learned in one step. By the time I was 8 I read music notation very well. I started playing Jazz melodies with background tracks at 8 also.

  • Nice playing, but sound sucks.

  • @Lancewss

Video camera sound was not that good 10 years ago. Sorry I was not in control of that.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Is your name really Stevie Vaughn Ray??

  • @sirleftyguitar

My Grandfathers name was Vaughn. The famous guitarist spells his Vaughn - Vaughan

  • stevie ray... vaughn?

  • @PacManGoneFluffy

Love Zep. Always will. I play and sing a bunch of Zeps alternate tuning tunes. My dad loves them too

  • makes me wonder, does the kid like zep or is dad a drunken dreamer gone by

  • Awesome!! Yea you can call this kid a joke, if he was older playing like this!! He was fucking 7!! Give him a break, shit!! He did a good job.

  • @patoya11

Thanks for noticing all the work I put into the guitar

  • Stairway to Heaven! lol! It is already a joke to play this song, even more when u cant get the timing right! A joke!

  • hes not 7

  • @ultamateshredder

Sure I am, my dad is 6'5" and moms 6'. When I was born I weighed 11.8 lbs, so I am big in the video, but I was 7 in the Video.

  • Steven Vaughan Ray? nice name :P

  • @ghdvd

    Thankyou, and thanks for watching.

  • @musicmad29 if he was seven he'd do it much better dude i have a video of mine when is was seven and played starway to heaven, pretty worse...

but now i'm almost 14 i can play it really easily and with feeling and i think if he plays on to his 13th he'd be better than me

  • @markielup3

Thank you,,I'm still playing. I play in an all teenage Jazz band that opened for Delfayo Marsalis,,little brother of Winton and Branford.

  • you have the coolest name.....seriously

  • very good. keep up the great work man

  • theres being a tall 7 yr old and then theres i dont think i would like to be 6 foot 6 to be honest and i can understand why people dont believe the fact that you are 7 just out of intrest how tall were you when you were 7 if you know??? and anyways why is everyone obessesed with how tall you are very nicely played

  • @Topproducer50, Ummm.... okay?

  • do u still play

  • @XeroTheroyIV yes, every day

  • @funydude300 If you notice the short riff in the end is a minor Pent riff. Minor Pent riffs at 7 years old. I haven't seen many others do it at 7.

  • @janzy1997 Third grade is 7-8

  • no he doesn't look seven

  • @alltimeladysman ,,It was the 3rd grade Talent show, I was 7.

  • @Topproducer50

Correction,,It was the elementary school Talent show, sorry.

  • basketball rim makes him look like an angel

  • @MrSaint3 Maybe my parents thought I was an angel, but I'm not

  • lol not to criticize u or anything cause you were like 7, but you skipped over one of the most famous guitar solos of all time...

  • @guitar29682 , Yes, I wish I had the solo down at that age. I got it soon after that.

  • sounds like due to his name his parents forced him to play

  • @acdc94sg You make it sound like punishment. I'm glad that I can jam with my dad. Its cool and so is he. Thanks Dad

  • no one cutting this kid up could come CLOSE to that at 7 years old. PROPS, man - this is great !

  • @tohellwithpurplepeop Thanks for defending all that hard work.

  • @JonasHater96 That's a Wechter backpacker and I'm wireless to dads Hot Rod Deluxe.

  • wow, maybe the world of music does have a future

  • @suckseedorsuckeggs I can only hope I can make a living playing music.

  • no acoustic solo :(

  • @Pugnamus No not at this age.

  • Wow and you almost have the same name as a guitar legend so it seems fitting :)

  • @rominamits That's my mom and dads fault.

  • props

  • @TheKeyWestian Thanks for noticing.

  • wauw!

  • @reneask79 Yeah , when I look back at what I did at that age it blows my away.

  • rock on my man!

  • @gamefacerz Thanks for viewing. You tooo

  • that is a big ass mother fucker 7 yr old!

  • @himboy9 Nice comment for a 7 year old. I was tall but never noticed my big can.

  • SO ARE YOU SRV? OR JUST

  • @JeffreyCentino97 No, just a young player with a notable name. Thanks for viewing

  • Hey! Look at the basket ball thing and tell me what it looks like. Can you see it? The weired thing is he is playing "stairway to heaven"

  • @TheExplodingPumpkin There is no cosmic meaning here.

  • That was pretty good, you should have had a bass player or something so you could have done the solo.

  • @LogSNES A 7-8 year old bassist playing also? I like your imagination.

  • What's with the clashing between how good blues players and metal players are? It's proven that the guitarists in especially Jazz and Metalcore are the better of all musicians in the world. Playing one type of music doesn't make you any better, it's the way you play it.

  • @kjnellis1 You should start a Blog about your observation.

  • he is so not seven

  • @drummer31dude Sure I am,,two months from 8

  • how can you say this kid isn't good? he's pretty awesome and only 7 years old!

  • @mellewillems Thanks for noticing all that work.

  • He looks pretty tall for a 7 yr old.. or is it just the camera

  • @batmanshan213 I heard the camera makes you taller, I'm 7 in this clip

  • so wait your parents named you steven vaughn ray?

  • @A7X514 , My Granddads name was Vaughn

  • Very good but im not sure if your improvising of Jimmy Page but the first few chords are slightly wrong...But still VERY VERY good work

    Top marks :)

  • @Euphoicbeatz14 Yeah your right, a tough tune for 7 years old. Thanks for viewing

  • hes not even good...im 12 and i play stuf like buckethead and harder shit then this

  • @layton056 Great dude, At 12 I was performing 3 hour instrumental Jazz shows in restaurants for cash. Released a Jazz album at 14. Dizzy,Duke,Miles,Monk,Django,Bird,,Do you know who they are? Keep on Rockin Buckethead.

  • he sucks

  • @FCBarcelona8 Thanks for the vote of confidence. You should post your 3rd grade talent show performance.

  • Looks like he has a halo above his head!! and playing Stairway to Heaven..Lol

  • @poshbrit No Halo,,Just a young player with proud parents

  • @Topproducer50 haha you stupid xD

  • he cannot be 7..HE LOOKS LIKE 13 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!

    GOOD THOUGH :)

  • @musicmad29 Thanks for noticing. I'm 6'6" now so I guess I was big for 7.

  • Hmm thats odd, after sliding to the 8th fret, that chord is easy, to play quickly, its the shift down to the D/F I find hard to play quickly :L

  • @Euphoicbeatz14 Just keep practicing. I play all the time. My other video are under search "Diamonds and Sapphires"

  • he looks soo 11yrs old ahahaha. jk. great! :)

  • Wood nt he be scared 2 play death metal bt kool

  • ok

but why there are not any kid guitarist that plays death metal!

    that would be awesome

  • ...dude ...they would shit themselves... death metal is scary to most kids ... granted...it would be awesome...but not likely to happen

  • because death metal sucks.

  • I think Death Metal is a more adult-form of music. Pop, Country, and some Rock is fine but when you get into the real grungy music (often with swearing, talk about sex, etc) then it can be a bit detrimental on a kid.

Not to mention I doubt any kids tell their teacher "I want to learn to play death metal"

  • I do I just don't have a camera can't post any videos. :(

  • @ jamirosmajicrocks

No, that would be totally bad. So bad today. Get lost with death metal, we really don't need next of this shit guitarists, which aren't musicians, but strange-finger-working guys on the strange-looking guitars. We rather want to see some blues legends like Clapton or Vaughan or somethin' in this years, but not death metal, gosh...

  • @jamirosmajicrocks

because even at a younge age they can tell that talented musicians can not be found in the death metal genere :p

  • @jamirosmajicrocks

lol i started playing metal at age 8 0.o

  • @frootbooter101 Metal is really easy to play

  • @bounty93 look up the guitar playing in nevermore and tell me that is easy...Engines of hate solo. Right now.

  • @TheWhocares233 Most Metal is really easy to play is what I meant. I'll admit there are exceptions but nowadays it's usually just really fast strumming on the low E.

  • @TheWhocares233 It is easy. Most of it is really fast plucking on the E string and the solo is a couple of Pentatonic scales. It really isn't that complex musically or that difficult to play. Metal in general is one of the easiest genres to play and write.

  • @bounty93 Metal (with) a good guitarist is one of the hardest to play imo...Jeff loomis, jason becker, rusty cooley, michael romeo is why believe that...only genre i can think of that is more difficult is jazz ,classical, fusion just look up any rusty cooley solo and tell me that is not difficult =\

  • @TheWhocares233 I'll admit there are exceptions but modern metal nowadays is really simple. Just a lot of really fast strumming. Look up Paul Gilbert to see some amazing guitar playing.

  • @jamirosmajicrocks

    /watch?v=Bz90ECIQRnE

    ?

  • @jamirosmajicrocks i do an pretty much anything else :) metal is AWESOME so all u up there ^ abouve this comment go fuck yoselves

  • no solo. lame. be more like tallon latz

  • he plays the easy version

  • Search this phrase, "Steven Ray Diamonds and Sapphires" , I was 7 in this vid from 2001. That was the best I could do. Thanks for watching.

  • @xxdavdisaster So? Dude, you wish you had half the talent he has AND HE'S seven!!!!!!!!!! Kick ass little dude! Kick ass!

  • He doesn't look 7...

  • Search this phrase, "Steven Ray Diamonds and Sapphires" , I was 6'5" at 15 so I suppose I do look big for 7 in this vid from 2001.

  • Ha! Stairway to heaven and he has a halo! (at the beginning, anyway)

    Go kid!

  • he definitely played it wrong

  • Yeah, I played it wrong. But since then I've seen Jimmy play it different a couple times on performance video's I've watch. I got it down note for note now.

    Happy New Year

  • he`s really good for his age!

  • Thank you for watching.

  • i think this vid is from the 90s

  • This was from 2001.

    Thanks for watching

  • Oh wow... So this kid is 16 now

    is this you?

  • Yeah, its me. Search this phrase "Steven Ray Diamonds and Sapphires"

Right now I'm waiting for an answer from the Grammy Foundation, I'm hoping to get one of the two jobs for guitarist in the Gibson Baldwin Ensemble. I want to go back to LA and play the Before and after parties at the Grammy Awards so bad.

    Happy New year

  • it says hes been doing shows since he was 11... hes seven right?

  • he looks like he has a halo over his head

  • GREAT JOB! YOu assholes are forgetting he's only 7 so go fuck yourselves ! What were u doing at the age of 7 ? Couldnt even speak right !

  • didn't he play the start wrong when your at around the 7th fret?

  • hes amazing so shut up

  • Comment removed

  • good really... but tell that those are fake ears

  • Yes ,, picked them up at a Star Trek convention,,LoL

  • I would like to see any of these knuckleheads talking trash on here, play that song. I have played bass for 25 years and I wouldn't attempt to play Stairway on guitar if you payed me.

  • Thanks for noticing how much work it takes to get here. Its been a long journey. I'm now playing a bunch of alternate tuning Zep stuff note for note. In 08 when I was 14 I was one of the 12 finalist's for the Grammy foundations "Gibson Baldwin ensemble". This all teenage group provides an all expense paid trip to LA to play the before and after parties at the Grammy awards and to record at Capital Studios.

    Happy Holidays

  • Hey no problem, I expect to hear you on the radio one day, so don't stop chasing.

  • I know thirty year olds that can play that well. Very nice kiddo.

  • fail

  • It took a lot of work to do it like this in one try. Sorry you don't appreciate it.

  • why even perform if its that bad,

you should take a good look at this n record urself before u go on stage n c if it sounds any good,

specially dont put it on youtube for the world to put you down,

keep at it but practice a lil more before going on stage

  • You expect a lot of performance awareness from a 7 year old. I hope I'll get to see what your seven year old does musically in years to come.
