why does everyone call meteors a spike. its called a meteor smash not a spike. a spike is for volleyball not brawl

A meteor smash and a spike are different. A meteor is recoverable if you use your recovery attack or jump as soon as your hit. A spike is not recoverable until your hitlag wears off.

i believe meteor smashes are also different from brawl than they were in melee. brawl now has meteor smashed being recoverable at half the distance than a spike as in melee where u could jump out of one almost as soon as u get hit by one.

A spike in melee was unrecoverable, You could only jump when the hitstun was over, And if you had over 50% you wouldn't be able to get back up with most characters..

A meteor smash could get meteor canceled at anytime..

For those who don't know, There are no spikes in brawl only Meteor smashes :)

uhh no marth has a spike, falco has a spike, rod has a spike, GANNONDORF has a spike, dk has a spike plus many more, i dont think anyone has a meteor smash. at 35% u can not recover from marth's spike when he hits u. so u r at 35% then he hits u and u cant get back.

Go to smashwiki and search for meteor smashes and then scroll down(Or use alt+F) to "In brawl"

then you'll see "Till now, no spikes are found in Brawl, so all meteors can be canceled."

Only reason people die at 35% is because they can't meteor cancel.. And to meteor cancel in brawl you have to wait a bit, you can't meteor cancel instant like you could in melee
