They were bought out. As in, Ritual Software doesn't exist anymore.

MumboJumbo (The casual games company) bought out Ritual when Ritual was suffering financial difficulties (akak ran out of money because SiN Ep didn't sell amazingly)

All but one of the original Ritual Entertainment team remain there. The rest have moved on to greener pastures.

So SiN Episodes is highly unlikely to ever be continued, and if it was, it wouldn't be on the same engine or at the same standard.
