kinda sad how such a nice boardwalk could have such lame rides. I only see two interesting rides, the ferris wheel and the pirate ship ride. The builders should have really look at boardwalks like Wildwood, Santa Cruz, Seaside Heights, Myrtle Beach and see what rides real piers should have. More rollercoasters, at least thrilling, the fireball, those 'tower of terror" rides, the skyscraper, the slingshot, the cyclone, the gravitron, rock n' roll, Santa Monica Pier really missed out on fun rides.

instead of having such a huge lift hill for such a small drop, just make it small instead of adding these depressingly slow *corkscrews*. or just make it thrilling (for kids) by making a 50 foot lift hill and adding a 50 foot drop or something... don't ride this if you went to sixflags once...

How can this thing go backwards? It wouldn't have enough momentum to make it all the way through the track. Also, the anti rollbacks would stop it from going back down the lift hill.

Given what they had to work with, a good job. I still miss POP's Sea Serpent. At one time you could take a photo from south and above the Venice Pier and, by angling it to catch POP and the Santa Monica Pier, have a picture that had EIGHT roller coasters in it. Sigh.....

Obviously this roller coaster is a very old roller coaster that was probably built 1) because of a very very limited budget and area to build on, 2) back in the early 80's 3) is just like any other small boardwalk/pier roller coaster you can find. Minus a the few random boardwalks/piers that have bigger roller coasters. Also you do realize this is the most popular roller coaster in movies? its been shown in scenes of over 40 movies. There for its a great Coaster hands down.
