i think the police know about the races but they dont do much about it, unless people start calling and complain about it. in my litle town we have a similar things, late summernight it is race in the middle of the city and people complain about it, but the police dosent do much about it, but in our litle city we have an old airstrip outside town. that not is in use since the airforce moved away. why can't they just let them drive there, nobody will be disturbed (sorry for bad english)

I think cops know about this, but they don't come and chase people away simply because they know that if they come, people will come back after the cops leave.
