I heard enough about people who claimed that if NAZi jets took to the sky in enough number, the tide of war can change. bullshiet!! What will happen is that the allied would've come up with the comparable counter within months. It may buy Germany some time, and it may cause the WW2 to drag on to 46 or 47 or even 50. But eventually, facing two massive armies on two fronts are just to much for germany to take on.

@crayzbotzz700 the Me 262 jet engines 004 Jumo with the exception of the prototye 004A Jumo jet engines suffered shortage of strategic materials, especially metals and alloys able to handle the extreme temperatures produced by the jet engine. Producing Me 262 in quantity or earlier would not solve the problem of shortage of strategic materials most 004 Jumos lasted just 12 hours, even with adequate maintenance.

I have to say most of your Performance Specifications are wrong the ME-262 top speed was 624mph or 1004km/h, theME-163 top speed was 702mph or 1130km/h,the HE-162 was 629mph or1020km/h, Just FYI :)

for example, there the p-51c looked so much different from the p-51d, which is what we see when we think mustang, and was slower and of an older design

You are totaly false: the top speed from the Me262 was 878km/h (germans don't known mph!) and it was VERBOTEN to fly faster because loss off controll ...

HE162= 820km/h and Me 163 960km/h (your 1130km/h indicated is supersonic!!!!)

as im knowing some stuff about airplanes in WW2, i think you meant the Horten Ho 229( and the b2?)?

was a flying wing, powered with 2 engines, but still in development when the war ended. i think there were only 2 models found, one was immediately destroyed and the second one was ported under top-secret status to america where they developed the B2.

The sectret weapons programs like the V1, V2, Type xx1 uboat and many others actually hurt Germany arms production and contributed almost nothing overall to stopping the allies. They would have been better to concentrate on the outstanding Panther tank and FW190 fighters. The loss of resources and labour on these too advanced technologies cost germany dearly. Of course, we have the advantage of hindsight.

true, but it would be better if the Germans made A.T. guns like 88s and turned it into form of trench warfare. If they wanted to stand better chance. tanks are more an offensive weapons. instead of making the Fw 190 they should be making me262 and other jet fighters. The Germans would have never won the war after stalingrad (1943).

@shermanace nah kramnosdivad is right they should have kept producing known well working planes and tanks jets of the day (me262) burn a lot of fuel, the engines had to be replaced frequently they should have mass produced fw-190s bf-109s panzertanks, tiger tanks etc.

The Me 163 Komet was an extremely interesting aircraft, but also very risky as well. With rocket fuel being held in the fuselage, one stray bullet could mean the end for the pilot inside, as roscket fue; is extremely flammable. Also, most of the destroyed Me 163's were destroyed either during take-off or landing. The unique aircraft is also a clear example of how Hitler was so desperate in the final months of the war.

Yes, the Gloster Meteor. But like the first US jets, it also lacked the SWEPT WINGS. If you put a Me-262, a P-80 and a Meteor model next to each other, you will see - the Me-262 has the very best design of them all. Hell, with minor improvements it could be a decent combat machine even today.

lol what? the allies shit their pants once the jets where in the air. The Me-262 had top speed of 869km. Around 1500 where built but only 300 ever saw action, plus they didn´t have all the necessary metals to built the jet engines proberly because of ever reduced territories and resources. But they where still really good. Just imagine if all 1500 of them saw some combat. I think you are extremely lucky too live in a free country, the Nazis did come close to win this war.
