@bigjbzzl it shouldnt take a round 1 pick 7 six years to have a good year in the NFL. Brandon Lloyd was a 4th round pick and was just a good talent overlooked but Haywood-Bey got the minutes and time and did nothing.

Some players take more time to develope, it's a gamble. have you ever heard of Brady, he won some big games at Michigan, but no one wanted to take a chance on him. Look at the guy Coffee from the 9ers...got the money and was on his way--but decided to retire befor the start of his season.

Heyward-Bey has a fundamental flaw in that he has terrible hands, and it's near impossible to improve those. He's a hard worker and a good kid who has improved in most other aspects (route running and blocking in particular) since he came into the NFL, but if a guy can't catch consistently he can't be an effective NFL WR.
Thang is , what you got to remember about this kid is:
1: Most receivers struggle to really break out until their 3-4th season. Reggie Wayne had freaking Peyton Manning throwing to him, and he didn't have a thousand yard season until year 5!
2: Oakland have no passing game, but it's getting better. Ranked 29th in the league at the minute. Hard to make plays when there's no QB to give you the ball. The better the passing game has got, the better he has.
That FIRST catch is NOT A GREAT CATCH, its STRUGGLING TO MAKE THE CATCH IN THE FIRST PLACE AND 2ND AND 3RD AND 4TH AND 5TH place. CRABTREE MAKES that CATCH AND USES A STIFF ARM AND WALKS INTO THE ENDZONE. EASY.

As bad as Russle is, he put the ball in Heyward-Bey's hands several times and so did Gradkowski and he still only managed to catch nine passes. I lost count of how many passes to him were exactly where they needed to be and he dropped 90% of them.
Raiders have an under rated bunch of track stars basically, they can take a 10 yard pass and make it go 20-30 yards after the catch just on speed, if they cant catch, make it more simple for them, give em the ball close and let em run with it!

DHB is no doubt NFL material but he is not a #7 talent. Just because he can run a 4.30 40 yard dash doesnt mean he has top 10 talent. I was at the game against Dallas and he was taking 2 DBs with him every play. That is success because it opens the field. On two plays that he went deep, yeah... he didnt come down with the play but he did take 2 DB with him both for over 40yrd all in under 4 seconds which is awesome for the future as plays will develope. To be a threat without the ball as with is great. Also, he had a good block on DMACs 45 yrd run.

Heyward Bey as the next TO? He doesn't have the game or body type to compare with him. Bey also has had some spectacular acrobatic catches which makes me wonder where all these "bad hands" comments come from.

He's listed as 206. I can see where you're going with this with the potential, but lining up his height and weight isn't the only thing you should be considering.
I'd say Crabtree is a better comparison to TO. He's more physical, and gets his catches with strength more than creating space by speed, which is what Bey does.

TO was never about speed, he is about strength and route running.

He wont need much time at all before he does magic in the NFL, he has world class speed, Superiour size and already knows a very complicated Pro Style offense. Crabs will on the other hand will need about 2 years to upgrade to an even more difficult Pro Style offense in San Fran.. his hold out isnt helping at all either. Look at Marylands formation! These kids are running a bad ass offense that throws to everyone not just it's best WR. The spread O is a small upgrade to the HS playbook

I'm not going to call him a bust yet. I noticed he quit dropping the ball after he got his first touchdown pass against the cowboys. The problem is that he got hurt immediately after that game. So I'll give him one more chance. Now russel on the other hand is done as far as I am concerned. Sign Bruce almighty and and charlie fry and let them fight it out for the starting position.

Heyward Bey will come around. But, to tell you the truth, with Higgins, Schillens, Heyward Bey, and Murphy and not to mention McFadden catching, and Miller, Gradkowski should thrive in such an offense.

As bad as Russle is, he put the ball in Heyward-Bey's hands several times and so did Gradkowski and he still only managed to catch nine passes. I lost count of how many passes to him were exactly where they needed to be and he dropped 90% of them.

Raiders have an under rated bunch of track stars basically, they can take a 10 yard pass and make it go 20-30 yards after the catch just on speed, if they cant catch, make it more simple for them, give em the ball close and let em run with it!

DHB is no doubt NFL material but he is not a #7 talent. Just because he can run a 4.30 40 yard dash doesnt mean he has top 10 talent. These highlights of him making amazing catches are nice but who the hell are these teams he is making these phenomenal catches? Nobodies... All these teams have susceptible defenses...I was looking at last years record and he didn't do much against top 25 teams....like I said he is NFL material but a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

I was at the game against Dallas and he was taking 2 DBs with him every play. That is success because it opens the field. On two plays that he went deep, yeah... he didnt come down with the play but he did take 2 DB with him both for over 40yrd all in under 4 seconds which is awesome for the future as plays will develope. To be a threat without the ball as with is great. Also, he had a good block on DMACs 45 yrd run.

DHB might not make that big of a impact this upcoming season for the offence but he will make some plays and you just got to give him time but DHB is not a bust you cant say someones a bust he barely got drafted you could say hes a bust like in about 6-7 years from now and if he doesnt have a impact in the offence or the numbers then you could say hes a bust but thats 7-8 years or 6-7 yrs of someones carreer you cant say someones a bust this early on

Heyward Bey as the next TO? He doesn't have the game or body type to compare with him. Bey also has had some spectacular acrobatic catches which makes me wonder where all these "bad hands" comments come from.
And Oakland didn't pick him for a reason. If it wasn't the issue with salary it would be issues with the amount of balls thrown his way, complaints about QB, complaints about etc. Skills by themselves don't get you picked.

He's listed as 206. I can see where you're going with this with the potential, but lining up his height and weight isn't the only thing you should be considering.
I'd say Crabtree is a better comparison to TO. He's more physical, and gets his catches with strength more than creating space by speed, which is what Bey does.

Enlighten me on why DHB is a better comparison to TO than Crabtree. I'm not saying I know better than you or anything, I'm really curious as to why that comparison is better than the other.
The only reasons you've served up to this point is height and weight. But even in those categories Crabtree is almost exactly like TO.
TO was never about speed, he is about strength and route running.

He wont need much time at all before he does magic in the NFL, he has world class speed, Superiour size and already knows a very complicated Pro Style offense. Crabs will on the other hand will need about 2 years to upgrade to an even more difficult Pro Style offense in San Fran.. his hold out isnt helping at all either. Look at Marylands formation! These kids are running a bad ass offense that throws to everyone not just it's best WR. The spread O is a small upgrade to the HS playbook

The fact is that Joe Flaco wanted DHB and was excited to throw to him... hoping he would be available to the Ravins but he was gone. Baltimore was all over him.
