When I was 16 YO I made a fake ID to get into a bar in MD to see the them  It was a dream come true. During the intermission he was wandering through the bar (which I thought was odd ) so I went up to shake his hand & tell him how much l loved his music. He pretty musch gave the rush-off, but c'est la vie.

About15 years ago Frankie showed up in my little town of Asheville, NC. It was a Wed night. The theater holds maybe 1500. He was charging over 50 bucks a pop. There had been ZERO publicity.

Anyway, my wife and I went and the place was about half full. Well, he would't stop bitching about the crowd. "This next song is 'blank'.. Tell your friends that DIDN'T come what they missed." This snarky shit went on all night.

I have been to shows by major artists that play their heart out even though a crowd didn't show up on a given night. It is called being a PRO.

Frankie, you were the antithesis of a Pro that night.

As much as I love Frankie and the 4, we must all realize this was one of the first "boy-bands" of the 60's. Just think of them as the baby-boomer version of nsync. But much better. I love the vocal harmonies of the original line-up. I'm in my mid 30's but this stuff still reminds me of being in the car on the way to grandma's house. Good memories.

What I noticed about the oldies is that when the performers who sing perform today (assuming they are still alive) they sound just like they did in the studio. Where as today's artists sound different, albeit worse, when performing live. I think modern artists let technology filter out their often times garbage singing voice.
